I just marathoned these 2 bands discography’s
Recommend me another band to continue this train.
Preferably something with similarities to these two.

General recommendation thread.

>inb4 spoon feeding
Fuck you. you gotta find it somewhere.

Favorite albums were
>Crack the Skye
&
>sorrow and extinction

You know what to do.

Are you recommending a marathon of bucket head??

Thou, Boris, Melvins and Cough are all solid bands that are pretty similar

Yes.
Have fun.
By the time you're done with Blueprints, he'll already have released two Pike albums.

I guess it does need to be done.

Dude no pls, you'll grow old and die of this marathon.

Get on it.

Maybe try Down

FOR YOU

Someone screen cap.

OP here saying imma marathon it

In all seriousness, you pretty much can't marathon Buckethead. There is just far too much and you'll just overdose at some point and stop enjoying it.
But his discography is worth getting into, listening to some notable pieces and then if you really like it, slowly crawl through all the collabs, the Pike series, In Search Of, etc.

lmao. OP leave is EPs/pike albums for later and start with his actual studio releases first. He has some really neat stuff that most people never find because you need to get passed the weedly weedly solos.

Buckethead is nothing like the bands you've asked about.

Try Goatsnake, Warning/40 Watt Sun, Candlemass, Trouble, Electric Wizard, Sleep, Rye Wolves, Hell, Palehorse

While I would also recommend Boris, they really aren’t that similar to any of these other bands.

I know he’s not but I’d be a legend if I marathoned his entire discography.

This is why I've stopped trying to recommend things on Sup Forums...

nah

Check out Khemmis if you haven’t already. Also Reverend Bizarre if you want something slower and doomier.

God damn OP here I thought his discography might take a couple weeks or so it’s going to take over 24 hours just to listen to this years releases alone.

Buckethead is not off the table but I want some more reasonable options first.

Exactly, that's why everyone ITT has been telling you that it was a fucking joke and that no one should even try to marathon his whole discography.
Pike all the way to 2015 alone is 60 hours long.
And that's not counting the rest of his solo material or the collabs.
If you want a look of what he can do, here are a couple listens that will already be as long as many artists' full discography
>Blueprints
>Bucketheadland (must listen)
>Giant Robot (must listen)
>Colma (must listen)
>Monsters and Robots
>Electric Tears
>Bucketheadland vol.2
>Cuckoo Clocks of Hell
>Population Override (must listen)
>Decoding the Tomb of Bansheebot (must listen)

>COLLABS
>Axiom Funk - Funkronomicon
>Brain & Buckethead - Kevin's Noodle House
>Buckethead & Friends - Enter the Chicken (must listen)
>El Stew - s/t
>Cornbugs - Brain Circus (must listen)
>Thanatopsis - Axiology
>Cobrastrike - 13th Scroll

His whole discography isn’t off the table for me.

We're talking over 180 solo albums plus 160 collabs and appearances. At least.
Just so you know.
And by the time this thread is over, he'll have released two more albums.
I'm barely joking.
I made the mistake you're about to make and now I appreaciate his work far less than I used to just based on being too used to it. He can be quite versatile but no one can stay fresh for 60 albums let alone 160.

Yeah, but I still might do it.

Do yourself a favor, cut the chase to the interesting bits and avoid the reprtitive fluff.
You'll only bore yourself.
