This f a m. Although Big Strong Boss is fun
its old
If Filth isn’t raw and violent, then music can’t be raw and violent. Simple as that.
I like Swans but they are pretty silly all things considered. Gira is mostly goofy but he makes some okay songs in spite of it.
i like this album but jesus christ early swans lyrics are cringy
>death death death rape fire rape fire murder rape fire death
but the lyrics exactly what they are supposed to be. What did you expect?
What? Could you post some actual lyrics instead of some shitty caricature?
God people have no fucking TASTE IM GOING TO GO INSANE HAVING TO FACE OFF AGAINST ALL OF YOU.
>Rape
Did michael gira really do it
What? Could you post an actual response instead of some shitty caricature of one?
Name a rawer or more violent album that was out at the time
Again, you have no actual critique of the lyrics.
Funhouse
Comparable in rawness and violence
i don't give a shit about the lyrics bitch
swans are novelty music. impossible to take seriously as art or confrontation. gira is almost as much of a goth goofball as treznor.
that "satisfy the dog" song used to be an inside joke between me and a few other people.
also, the consumer is one of the biggest pieces of shit i've ever read.
gira is chronically and incurably bereft of talent in any and all disciplines. overwrought rich-kid NYC boho turd.
>stooges
>the birthday party
>einsturzende neubauten
>whitehouse
>discharge
>killing joke
swans are gay, bruh.
>caring that much about lyrics
You're doing music wrong buddy.
>swans are novelty music. impossible to take seriously as art or confrontation.
>stooges
>the birthday party
>einsturzende neubauten
>whitehouse
>discharge
>killing joke
I want you to leave art illiterate. I fucking hope you die btw lol
I don't really care much. The lyrics could be about taking a steaming shit and I'd be fine with it. I still prefer this early era of swans to post-rock swans any day of the week.
Discharge - Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing
Venom - Welcome to Hell and Black Metal
Stooges - Fun House
Amebix - Who's the Enemy
Hellhammer - Satanic Rites
Cromagnon - Orgasm
Killing Joke - s/t
this
no
well
(None of these are more intense)
Not him but Cromagnon's Orgasm is definitely more intense, especially for an album released in 1969.
Also if we're talking rawness and grittiness of recording and audio quality, Hellhammer's Satanic Rites beats Swans' Filth by far
t. yuppie who thinks it’s the loudness that makes music intense

>Discharge - Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing
>Hellhammer - Satanic Rites
>Cromagnon - Orgasm
I think that's part of the point
all unironic attempts at conveying emotion lyrically or otherwise are inherently cringy regardless of the emotion, but you cant deny that the bands instrumentals create a ""potent"" atmosphere
>I dont find this raw neither violent
You say this like it’s a bad thing
Also you’re wrong about the raw part, indulgence into the unconscious is the entire point of Swans and that’s de facto raw.
>Like Nine Inch Nails by amateurs
(You)
You’re thinkig too much about it
post-breakup Swans > pre-breakup Swans
>Indulgence into the unconscious is what Swans is about and that's de facto raw
Too big of thoughts for Sup Forums but that is 100% correct. And it's so obviously apart of their appeal and aesthetic.
If you don't think Swans is brutal then your conception of brutality is just a caricature of its reality. Pretentious sounding, but true.
And where are now all these gay bands you cite fucking faggots?
Swans fans are possibly the biggest cringelords in music
Discharge and Venom still release albums. Hellhammer evolved into Celtic Frost, which then evolved into Triptykon
Idk the sample you're taking here is all people with mental disorders and an inability to be wrong
I'm sure irl Swans fans are just normalfags
probably
>Like Nine Inch Nails by amateurs
Filth is far more caustic than anything Nine Inch Nails has ever made.
SPK were true madmen.

This album is rawer and more violent than Filth imo.
The Revenge of Anus Presley is the perfect embodiment of violence in a song.
However, BRTL is more like violence with a cause (drunkeness or depression). Filth is violence for its own sake (psychotic). Both great albums, I just think theres more richness, emotion and revisitability in BRTL
Young God EP > Filth desu
Filth has some great tracks tho.
This.
How can you listen to literally 5 seconds of the album without it invoking violent thoughts?
