Come on. This scene was kind of creepy but the imprenetrable plot armor of Jack Black and Adrien Brody kind of ruined it for me.

This flick had some really good cinematography and few decent scenes, but overall it was one gigantic mess loaded with ridiculously implausible NARROW ESCAPE scenes. Brody and Black were criminally bad. The bug pit scene is overrated.
