Let's settle this once and for all. Sup Forums Is it contrarian to hate the Beatles?

yes.

They are shit so no, not really

THE

Yes

Abbey Road is their best album

dubs and duck confirm

Where is it going?!?!?!

No, plenty of old-timers disliked the Beatles in favor of other music at the time. It’s just the most popular from that era.

Yes but it doesn’t mean you’re wrong

>is it contrarian to dislike the most popular musical act of all time

>t. contrarian
>t. contrarian
You’re not wrong for your opinion. Just most likely not as informed as most others on the topic

depends

it's totally normal to be 'into music' and not like the beatles
they are ubiquitous as fuck and have a wide appeal, so casuals like it, and that might be annoying in itself
or maybe you don't appreciate the music and it might seem a bit safe or something
or maybe you think they were plagiarists, some people do

personally i like them, they had a unique flavour and were not afraid to wreck their careers with experimentation, even at the height of their popularity

Not only is it contrarian, but it shows you have no understanding of music. You might as well just stop listening altogether if you don't get them.

to answer that question, do yourself a favor and listen to Revolver, then Sgt Pepper, then Abbey Road.
only this way will you understand.
im not saying it is or it is not contrarian to hate them. but listening is a good starting point to answer that.
reading those albums' wikipedia article is not a bad idea also. things like checking the year of release, the recording context and all that

They are ok. I like Revolver

disliked =/= hated

No. But to dislike pink Floyd, yes

It's settled then.
