I can mess around here atm all I want, it's a web studio that no one listens to much, but I want to be better before i'm on fm
just fucking play shit you like retard
Yeah lol, most people who get that job know and have thought of before what kind of music they want to play. What kind of music do you like? I'll bump with a song too

just play this bad boy on repeat
Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, Berlin trilogy David Bowie (though I like Space Oddity), clipping., Death Grips, Radiohead, Daft Punk (RAM in particular), Everything Everything, The Strokes, Neutral Milk Hotel, Vince Staples
not much similarity there, and I don't want to play the same stuff so i've gone to video game soundtracks and spotify radio a few times, but I just want to expand to more stuff. Aren't radio djs supposed to play not as known stuff and make the hour cohesive so to speak?
at my station we do whatever we want, i played the seer to fill my 30 minutes last week because i didn't feel like talking
rn i'm not technically allowed to play songs with swears and later i won't be allowed to at all, and i am aware that my parents are listening
the seer doesn't have any swears
>mommy is listening
who cares
I do 3 hours 2 nights a week and I make my playlists, all clean, in the 30 mins before my show. Don't b lazy and listen to music also the Spotify daily playlist is really useful. Also long >10 min songs are you're friend
What station? I miss being a DJ at my college radio station, even though pretty much everyone was an asshole.
i'm the web studio tues 5-6, the website is very outdated, i'm trying to get the login and fix it but they're really locked up for some reason
Cool, I hosted a show on WMUC for 3 years. I think the highest number of people who ever listened online at once was like 14.
oh cool, i have a couple of friends that are at university of maryland
...
was this just made for this thread or did it seem fitting for what i said earlier?
look up spotify playlists for inspiration
a few off mine
squeeze - up the junction
versing - body chamber
the wake - pale spectre
the courtneys - delivery boy
joyce manor - violent inside
barry manailow - ready to take a chance again
mamas and papas- snowqueen from texas
mile high club - rollercoaster baby
if you listen to a variety of different music an dhave an eclectic taste just spend some time being patient and trying to put some songs together. if you don't have an eclectic taste its not a big deal, just put together songs that stretch different eras and it will seem more like you do.
I hate this kind of advice but don't try too hard. don't put on a Can song and then a teenage fanclub one or something unless you really like them
I made it.
It's all popular alternative stuff that's widely critically acclaimed and that has a "youth-y" spirit if that makes sense.
trips confirm
OP don't play any of this shit this is lazy basic college freshman shit. just don't play itaots
in my defense, "lazy college freshman shit" was exactly what I was going for
yeah im not trying to shit on you it looks like it was made by a focus group for some left of center politician to claim he likes though I do like most of the stuff on there. I think the better advice is not not try too hard
lol exactly what I was going for/what I was thinking while making it.
yep that advice is better. I spent like no effort on this/
