It would work great with bass/drums/electric and properly produced, a kind of ca. 2005 emo track, in a good way, a bit dated in style but I got a soft spot for that sort of thing.
It's a solid song and I would encourage you to use this take and build a full song out of it.
To start from the beginning the drums are all originally recorded by myself and then processed by me. The keyboard that then proceeds the two measure drum intro is some synth I have in my VSTs that I then added effects to. Nothing is sampled actually just ticplainly answer you question. Played everything myself. There are two guitars panned left and right during the chorus. The sax and double bass I recorded from a friend and then some random guy I knew from a friend.
>savage noise >"experimental" >an excuse for me to come up with cancerous bullshit
Thats my personal stuff i make on my own, theres other stuff, on the channel from a few bands im in.

you don't need a drummer necessarily. Drums are really hard to record in a DAW anyhow (you need mics on each piece of the drumkit if you want good sound, among other things). You can use a drum machine with real bass/guitar/vocal and that's fine for now. if you haven't ventured into using DAWs then go for it, it's the best way to get your music to sound more professional.
and thanks for the positive review on my little song

In that case I'm quite impressed and you've done some great work. The production could definitely use work but the song is excellent.
Watch your spread, make sure you EQ everything you record, make the parts all speak without shouting each other down, play with volume levels and panning etc.
If that's not your gig I get it but finding a producer who won't arm and leg you is tough, much easier/cheaper to do production yourself.
let that not distract from the compliment though, great work boss.
I dont think its bullshit in the sense that "its garbage" but bullshit in the sense that its not my primary focus amd i mainly do it for fun. The other music is my primary focus, (musically anyways) and i also said to check out the other stuff on that channel as well.

on third listen: f fatten up the bass in general, especially part 1. The highs are too much over the whole track, mids/bass lacking the whole track. Turn down reverb on synth/keyboard parts and make them lest misty, more present. there's way too much dangling reverb and white noise. filtering might be the problem here too I'm not sure.
the transition to the second part needs major work.
again, let me not detract. It's a great song and I'm being pedantic to try and give you some useful stuff.
This is some great information, thank you for some this. I can see how more upfront keys would make it sound more conventional, which is what I'm trying to for, I also want to mix my vocals to be more at the forefront to give off a more "pop" atmosphere to some tracks. But I'll experiment with everything and see what happens. I don't know if I would entirely agree with the bass being fattened up on the verse however, as it's a thick sub that permeates the mix (though doesn't have too much high end info), but the chorus is definitely weaker in the lows, which is probably a bit jarring.

Made with Oberheim Matrix-12. No additional effects just hard left/right panning on some tracks. All 12 voices on. Modulation matrix in full use with all LFOs.

Is there anybody out there?
Here's my stuff: "Reckless Spirits In Times of War" is the second and, at the moment, last release from me, I need to get back to the real world once or twice.
"Reckless..." are all the stories yet untold from the minds of certain individuals from the dark past.

I like some tails with talent ^^
Lovely ambient, cringe-y grindcore
Liam Murphy
cringey how?
>Memories captured into an audio thats rich

It's just sounds to me like that, what can I say?
Brandon Brooks
you could say why you think that, obviously. do you listen to the genre at all? deconstruct it a bit at least
Gavin Rogers
I do obviously, I wouldn't say anything about it if I didn't. My main concern is that it goes to that uncanny valley when it's at the line of becoming really scary and just being a silly attempt at it. It lacks the punch, more chaos (electronic or otherwise), some more distorted vocals that are bit more forward into the mix. Drums has a bit of a flatness to the imho so it all makes a very cringe-y experience - an attempt rather than a genre track. Visceral and total hatred - it lacks it for me
>Trap >Street fighter/Animoo inspired track >High sub bass
William Gray
everything your saying is opinion-based though. >more chaos (electronic or otherwise) what does that even mean, you're spewing these ridiculous terms, ( an attempt rather than a genre track) that means nothing. I respect you giving an answer but you sound like a moron, learn how to use english. what grind/pv bands do you listen to? not trying to be an elitist or snob or anything, I'm just curious as to what you're comparing this to
Nicholas Wood
Drowning in the deepest sorrow which is just nothing in her eyes
I just realised the sort of perosn I'm dealing with haha. sorry for replying, good luck with your original, unique artistic endeavours

>Not trying to be an elitist or user >you sound like a moron
Well, thanks for talking, I guess, sorry I've said my opinion about your music
>song is like the gif >bouncey 808s interesting funk beat >psychedelic sounds >beat go off >fast delivery >good production well mixed >lots of variety >boing
I posted this in a similar thread last night and got some good feedback. My band released our first music video on Halloween, check it out! youtube.com/watch?v=53S5nZSHJuw

recs in order of enjoyment I do not know if I will return to this anytime soon but it certainly has my attention for the moment I want longer started kinda slow but it grew on me definitely
This isn't really my shit but for what it is its pretty good my dude. While it not might be what you want to go for with your aesthetic, i think that this song would flourish with a bit more instrumentation, maybe something to bring out some of the beautiful melody. as it is now i think its real nice, but falls into the cliche realm of pianos with too much reverb. I know this is a demo but i think this song could definitely either be stripped down to just keys, or be layered a lot more, rn kinda in a weird dynamic zone
I have to go ill review sum more and maybe drop my own trax
