My favorite Genesis album really
If you judge your live albums on the atmosphere, fun attitude, performances and just feeling of wanting to be there I don't think there is a better time capsule than this if I'm being honest. While it's 15 hours of music, most are the same sets, you can tell everyone was having fun and they were feeding off each other. It's an album I'd recommend to a first time listener
Solid choices
Haven't gotten to it yet
B.B. King Live at the Regal
...
I prefer his jail album.
The best

Nirvana Unplugged in New York
This is easily the most polished and well-produced live album I've ever heard. I guarantee you'd think it came out of a studio without knowing beforehand that it was actually recorded live in front of an audience.

That being said it's not my FAVORITE live album, just the best sounding
And this one's my personal fav
Queen Rock Montreal
ajj's first one obviously isn't the best but it's actually good, better than their studio shit by a mile

This might be cheating since it was also a movie but seriously the Last Waltz never fucking fails to improve my mood and restore my faith in music
Van Morrison's Caravan performance was fucking savage
>Phil on vocals
it works for the stuff written for him but imo the Peter stuff sounds better with Peter's theatrics
Hardly heard any of this just these and what I posted. I can rec these but Tim Buckley is sort of an acquired taste I would say.
GET READY, CAUSE TONIGHT I'LL BE STAYING HERE WITH YOU
Seconded.
Another fantastic one. The versions of "on the way home" and "love the one you're with" are fantastic

lol how'd we forget Nighthawks? It's just so cozy
Came here to post this
Notable in how it’s not just a collection of really good performances of songs, it’s basically a standalone piece from the rest of their discography that hints at what very well could have been if Kurt didn’t kill himself. Combined with the circumstances surrounding the live show, and the overall unsettling atmostphere, it’s just something else.

I'm not even a huge Jerry Lee Lewis fan, but the man just rocks his heart out here. Especially considering that he was considered washed up by many by the time it was recorded

rammstein in 98 in berlin is the greatest concert of masculine energy and sexuality with perfect performance of the peak of their catalogue (the first two albums almost in their entirety) it's just beautiful, super atmosphere and feeling and excitement I enjoy every time
