What's your AOTY, Sup Forums?

Good choice, wasn't expecting to like this so much but i keep coming back to it
Its low key but theres no filler and explores its idea really coherently

Everything Everything - A Fever Dream

It's still only a strong 8 for me, I haven't found anything that's really blown me away. A lot of 2017 albums have been really disappointing

What are the best 2017 albums in these genres?
>prog rock / metal
>post rock / metal
>art pop
>jazz fusion
>experimental

See Maybe St. Vincent's new album? I don't know. It's been a sparse year.

the super high key 'DRUMPF!' is kind of ehh

...

Big Game? Yeah that's easily the worst track, usually they're more subtle in their political jabs like in The Wheel from Get to Heaven - didn't realize it was about Nigel Farage for like a year

that one

>post rock

It's a choice out of these two.

...

grails have never released a good record - is this one different, user?

agree

might honestly be thundercat's "drunk", i keep coming back to it. i really loved half of planning for burial's new album but the rest of it was shitty ambient that i don't give a fuck about. brand new's album was good too. and this: was great, i'd probably put it under drunk. biggest disappointments this year was damn and pacific daydream, worst album of the year is also pacific daydream, FUCK you rivers cuomo

Phyrron - What Passes for Survival
Protomartyr - Relatives in Descent
Ulver - The Assassination blah blah blah
King Krule - The Ooz
Greg Fox - The Gradual Progression
in no particular order / not exactly matching your request
Try some of those for size

...

New Ulver is hella solid, was my AOTY until A Fever Dream dropped - will check the rest out, thanks dude

>björk - utopia
this shit is like the sun

I guess it's a matter of taste then
this one is an upgraded version of Deep Politics

avoided it because i know them.

might give it a spin on your semi-rec.

Has it leaked?

I fucking hate the artwork

...

>this shit is like the sun
yea, it hurts to look at

>art pop
Planetarium

>art pop: I Tell a Fly - Benjamin Clementine
>experimental: All This I Do for Glory - Colin Stetson

Bjork is done

This is for me too

Such a sick cover desu

...

That's literally it - it looks sickly

Utopia is supposed to be about peace, new love and new life right? Then why does the cover look so nauseating and uneasy?

Literally any of the photoshoot pictures would make a better cover

Girlpool's Powerplant is really good. It took me a few listens, but I like it a lot now.

This one

...

I can agree, not my favourite album of theirs but I'm yet to find something else to blow me away besides maybe pic related

...

Not even meme'ing, I've listened to this album more than any other new one released this year.

Catchy as fuck.

This so far, but i have yet to listen to a lot of stuff.

Couldn't decide on 1 so here's 10

>that album cover

AOTY by a mile

I checked out the Igloo Ghost album because of Melon Head and was pleasantly surprised. Are his other albums as good as this.

yeah, his other stuff is mostly more of the same. I recommend you check it out

my favourite hip hop of the year

holy fucking shit dude

is that a jungle gym for giants?

The monkey bars tower over 3 stories

good pick but that came out last year

...

muh nigga

>vagina on her forehead
>ayy lmao fetus performing autofellatio
what is the meaning of this

...

Cheating cuz it came out last year but I've been listening to this on repeat all fall.

Also My aoty is Brick Body Kids too so I didn't want to do it again

...
