Ask a foreigner who lives in Japan anything

Ask a foreigner who lives in Japan anything.

Do you practice Shintoism, Buddhism?

Have you banged a Japanese chick?

no, but i sometimes go to temples

yes.

Cool. I have $3,000 and im in the western US. I dont speak Japanese other than a few common phrases. Can i move to Japan and be a homeless buddhist martial artist?

so how's the ALT life?

Do they really stick their fingers up your ass as a prank?

there are temples accepting foreigners but i am not sure about martial arts. Just google it.

but recently there is a fake monk problem in Japan. Some SEAs pretending to be Priests are collecting money for fake charities so be careful.

What is ALT life?

actually yes.

Not OP, but currently living it
>make about $35,000 a year
>work only 16 days a month
>12 days of paid vacation (not counting national holidays) a year
>long stretches of time for improvement
>no classes at all during March, for example
>spend my days reading, studying Japanese, and chatting with teachers and students
>enjoy teaching 85% of my classes
>lukewarm about the others
>living in Tokyo is dope

How can i google it from the US? Feel like the search results would be diluted at best. Just tried. Very diluted.

I wanna be a buddhist monk in Japan and earn the respect of my buddhist monk peers as a gaijin. Do you know of any buddhists in Japan?

Google is a world wide search engine so you have access to Japanese web pages too.

I work at a Japanese restaurant run by Chinese people.
Pretty much every Asian restaurant in my country is just Chinese people but us whites are too stupid to learn our slant eye so no one noticed.
How do you feel about that.

Where do you live?

a bit like when we come to your countries and see that everyone there is foreign.

it is like being white and Asians assuming you are from US and greeting you Hello or saying Sorry all the time.

Tokyo

Kinda tingly,
in my pants

some stupid Japanese website sold bitcoins for 0 Yen, so it is a regular mistake here i guess

日本に住んでいる外人なんって特別じゃないわ
マック食べて家に帰れよ

If true that legitimately sounds really nice. Good for you user.

Used knickers in vending machines.... really a thing?

OP here. I lied lol. I can't read chong yet so the jig is up.

Chong poster here

Git gud

How many hours do you work a week?

same fagging is strong in this one.
特別と言ったことないよ。
マックはあまり好きじゃない・・・

Is Japan as insular as they say? Do they hate foreigners?

no. I only see one place in Akihabara and it is more like a meme.

depends but usually more than 40

no, actually you can use Gaijin ticket and save yourself from lots of obligations but if you can't blend in and follow the rules you can't last long.

Chong poster here
I didn't samefag, there is clearly a third person trying to make you look foolish

東京に住んでいるなら神奈川県の藤沢市知っている?

alright, my bad
>藤沢市
その砂漠みたいのでビーチある所だよね?
行ったことないけど知っています。

Go home you yellow fever faggot.

1. elaborate how jap chicks are different in terms of flirting
2. what is the most hitech shit u've seen so far?

also post some photos u surely took - i mean the city, citylife etc

Not that user but the way you type makes you sound like a foreigner

>not enjoying the country side
>fall for the tokyo meme

Tokyo is fun to visit. Shit place to live. Talking from experience.

Where do you live and are you a local?

show us the view from ur window rite now

Women are more reserved. Many times you can find out if they are in to you if they hide their smile with their hand. This is a broad generalization though.

High tech is same as America. Japan was more high tech in the 90s and 2000s. as of now, I would say America is better.

Also, not OP

1. They give you chocolates during Valentines Day. Accept things that will be considered sexual harassment in west as compliments (eg. being too pushy. Forcing them to dates. Sudden hugs from behind.)

2. Probably train ticked machine. That thing is so rad.

it's maybe because i am.

This. Not OP, but also live in Japan: Chiba, in the Tokyo suburbs. Most chances I get we head out to the country (Japanese wife) and hit an onsen or other local shit (festivals, breweries, etc).

Tokyo is great for backalley izakayas and shit, but all the major attractions get boring pretty quickly.

read the thread.

ビーチ好きなら行った方がいいよ、おすすめする。

Twelve-year 在日 here in Akita.

Where are you, OP? What's your business and why are you here? Planning on staying permanently?

I'm not knocking on you, just saying.

Do people treat you weird/rudely over there?

i am a city person but i prefer to live in Western Japan if i had the chance. food is better, suits me more.

了解しました。
ありがとうございます。

Clean panties are a thing. From a claw game. Never seen used though.

What level JLPT are you?

thx for the no-op elaborate

from my point of view they are like small shy children and i cant imagine she is hidding her smile and in one hour u r pumping her

what i mean is here in europe u approcah a girl u chat - u flirt - u touch - u dance - u more touch - u fuck
its like 0% - 25% - 50% - 75% - 85% - 100%

in jap its like (my oppinion) ... u chat - u flirt but i have the feeling once u touch they ban you from the country

sorry for bad explanation but u may get the idea

I hear that.

I found Kyuushuu to be awesome, but circumstances keep moving me north.

Tokyo. Business Consultant. Yes, at least until I retire.

do u have a pancreas

Not to mention everyone is depressed/stressed/busy all the time.

>hey do you want to hang out?
>sure, let me check. Im free in 2 months.

Haven't met a japanese person who hasn't had a mild emotional breakdown. I moved to Shiga, everyone is %100 more chilled. Money last longer too lol

Go to the VOID bar and get yourself killed in the bathroom.

>sexual harassment
this term is reserved for US only

its not like that in europe

How many Japanese have you fucked?

I kinda understand what youre saying. Again, every girl is different. But from what I've seen, a lot are shy towards foreigners. They prefer white guys over Japanese men. Despise Filipino. Country and city life is vastly different though. If you want to get laid with no effort, just go to the city

It's always Tokyo...

I've been twice and never cared for it. The smaller towns in the countryside are infinitely more pleasant, friendly and interesting to me.

What kind of consulting? I do academic translation work.

probably the dumb question b-but
where to start learning japanese?

the thing is even the alphabet (i guess u have like 3 of them, right?) and the writing is completely different so its not like when french is learning english

this is serious question

No. As I said earlier it is actually in my favor but if I fail to follow to rules, i will get backlash, nor because I am foreigner but for disturbing others.

i was level 2 when I took the test but i guess i am better now.

same here. Money is in Tokyo.

Heh, I overshot Tokyo and ended up in Akita. It'll probably be Hokkaidou before long.

so in general speaking in city u get easy laids (lets call them europe/us common easy girls) but in terms of real relationship building (not once night stand) they are more shy and u gotta be "easy" pushing?

First, learn hiragana, then katakana, then start on kanji.

Remembering The Kanji by James Heisig is great if you actually follow through with it.

The major trick is this: divorce the meaning/grapheme of the character from its readings.

You type like an Albanian

Yes

a gentleman never kiss and tell

mostly cultural and language and also they call me if there i conflict with a foreign company. So it is case by case.

it is difficult to say where to start but i can tell where not to start. Never ever learn Japanese with Latin alphabet. Memories Hiragana and katakana first.

i have no idea what the named terms mean but i will search them and give it a go

thank you

I assume you like snow.

wut?!?

May I ask what your educational background is and how you came into that work? I'm looking for some new options.

ur smart
hide ur family

in general speaking
>in city u get easy laids
>once night stand
lol this

In terms of relationship building, it's fairly easy. One major downside is language barrier.

Flip detected

no u
i will cum n raep ur famly

Fuck, no. I left Canada in no small part to get away from that white shit. It's up to my fucking waist here.

>a gentleman never kiss and tell
you sound like a huge faggot

>2. what is the most hitech shit u've seen so far?

Oldfag currently living in Taiwan (and not OP). compared to here, I found Japan to be low-tech. Painfully so.

Also, not to kind towards foreigners (tourists anyway).

Could not live there.

I'm going to tokyo for a few days. Are internet cafes ok to sleep at? Or capsule hotels? I'm only bringing a backpack.

The first two refer to syllabaries, while kanji is... complicated.

Just learn the syllabaries first -- it won't take long -- and get away from roman characters as quickly as possible.

Really? I've always found almost everywhere in Japan to be very welcoming. Where were you?

yea but watch out for your butthash bro, they try and steal it while you're asleep
i swear man, the struggle is real

Do the local prostitutes etc. fuck the white man?

Not Op. But let me explain.

Repressed culture. Conservative cuture.
Go to bars, hook up with chicks for one-night-stands. After a few months and a few bars and clubs, you'll notice it's the same girls and sometimes at different bars on "ladies night".

It's the foreign men that are changing, the (slutty) women are like furniture.

Nice girls do not date white losers.

(Not OP) They fuck whom they are paid to fuck, but is you don't speak Jap, you might be refused.

LMAO
Sup Forums must be leaking.

What a good zinger

Kyoto. Genuine Japanese restauants would not seat a foreigner. Always reserved. Could not make a reservation for the next day. Or day after. My companion, Chinese, spoke Japanese.

I loved (past tense) Japanese food until then. All I wanted was real, in Japan, Japanese bbq.

Do they have churches?

>a gentleman never kiss and tell
you still sound like a huge faggot

Huh, weird. I've been to some very nice places in Kyoto and never had a problem.

Not sure what you mean by "Japanese BBQ", though. Do you mean yakiniku? BBQ isn't really a Japanese thing.

Unfortunately, but they tend to be rare. Japanese Christians are a small, powerless minority, and they tend not to push their bullshit on others.

The fucking Mormons, on the other hand...

Get out!

cheap low shps in shibuya shinjiku are Gaijin OK. Some high end escorts are OK too. Soaplands no

尊皇攘夷, amirite?

How is it? Do they respect you or treat you poorly for being a gaijin? What do you love about the country? How is the market for careers?

魑魅魍魎。

I guess. "yakiniku"

Yakitori Restaurant

鯨吞燒 串燒酒場-總本店

google the chinese text, it'll take you to the style of restaurant I mean

i did this many times and it always come to how many did you fuck and are prostitutes foreigner friendly.

no exceptions.

Oh, such spirits are. I live in the mountains.

This is the first time i head something like that.
It was either high season and place is full or you did some fucked up shit.

How do you feel having an high risk of dying by cancer? Nagato, Hiroshima and now Fukushima. Whole country is radioactive

Yes, plenty (well me be not as plenty as Christian countries).

And yet there's been 7 Christian prime ministers.
