People are so desperate for food thst they're eating out of trash, and our youth is basically being harassed by militants to stay away from schools. There's a giant community of homeless people, including young teenagers, who have a fucking plague of fungus disease that makes them look like lepers. You can't walk anywhere without dealing with thugs, and even worse, la guardia is basically in on it and outright mug people at gunpoint and get away with it. My friend died because those fuckers saw him get knifed in the long and instead of taking him to the hospital, they just dragged him to his home and left him there to die.

The truth is this is kind of an ethnic thing. The government and the military specifically has been overrun with Cuban militants who work for Cuban interests and not venezuelas, they treat us like shit, and the kicker is they get the refugee benefits. And there are cubans with an attitude about it too, they sneer at venezuelans.

Fine idea, but dictated price is set so low that favela monkeys can afford 'em you end up in situation where it makes absolutely no sense at all for farmers to produce said basic items as they gain nothing from it, more likely made losses producing basic foods. Even before oil price went down and Venezuela got fucked by hyperinflation, they imported food. Once farmers started to switch to crops that allowed them to break even, imports increased. Since those items were cheap as dirt people started to smuggle 'em to neighboring countries like Colombia to make hefty profits. Stuff Venezuelan government imported with tax money and oil profits.

Social democrats have been for free market economy since 1920's in Nordic countries. Unlike market liberals they just support reasonable government participation in economy. Government is free to set up government owned companies or to own stocks of some companies. Usually strategic sectors like energy, communications, logistics and defense.

So if you own a factory that still is on production, you just will be working for the government as a manager of that factory. The government don't allow you to generate profits. They demand you goods and if you don't want to cooperate the government will expropriate your factory. The workers aren't under your domain anymore, they aren't working for you anymore. The became the owners as you just manages under a salary estimated by the government

By other side, the workers are still doing good when the government has stablished low prices and high minimum wage. The plusvalia became a thing then.
