really though dude just listen to dsotm in its entirety

>avoid all post 1973

wait are you trying to trick me again?

"if it wasn't for the nips being so good at building ships, the yards would still be open... it can't be much fun for them, with all their kids committing suicide. what have we done, maggie what have done?"

Can't help but burst out laughing everytime I hear that song, such a wet slap in the face. So good. It's like fucking Rick Moranis yelling "honey I shrunk the kids hue-hue" but yelling about the failure of the post-war fucking dream. Such a good fucking album, '83 no less.

.......just listen to Pink Floyd?

Nigger just listen to their albums, it's pretty obvious which ones are the most popular and should start with. They aren't a singles band, you need to listen to albums in full to appreciate them.

Start with DSOTM, then go to Wish you were here, then The Wall, then Animals, then Meddle. You can listen to the Division Bell if your desperate for more.

Congrats, you've listened to all the PF thats worth listing too. Their early stuff is trash.

>Their early stuff is trash

If anyone told you to ignore Division Bell or Momentary Lapse of Reason i strongly advise you to ignore that and give the albums an honest listen. The ONLY reason you'll hear people talk shit about them is because the roger waters fanboys can't let go.

If you like really generic watered down dadrock listen to their later stuff, if you like experimental psychedelic stuff listen to their early stuff, if you're a normie then just start with Dark Side and go chronologically until The Wall and stop there.

Yes, listening order should be

Ummagumma
Relics
Atom Heart Mother
Meddle

Wish You Were Here
Obscured By Clouds
Dark Side of the Moon
The Wall

Animals
The Final Cut
The Division Bell
A Momentary Lapse of Reason

in no discernable order primarily because I don't think giving a listening order is useful to any artist since inter-album linkage is not helpful upon initial listenings and generally it is best to listen to entire albums. Each come with their own story/feeling.

>not Atom Heart Mother
>not One of My Turns

>Not a singles band
Pic posted begs to differ

You lost me at Breath, otherwise good recommendations

Pic posted is better than Relics.
otherwise the other three choices on list one is good, although I'm disappointed you didn't include PATGOD or A Saucerful...

Obscured by Clouds is really the last tolerable PF album on any of the lists you've posted, although I like Dogs of War from A Momentary Lapse of Reason

>Not a singles band
>Pic posted begs to differ

Just because a band has a shitty greatest hits cashgrab album doesn't mean that's better then actually listening to their albums...

I never made any such claim.

Somebody posted that they weren't a singles band, and this album is a collection of early singles.

And while you got dubs and are entitled to your own personal opinion, this is a GREAT album, especially for Barett fans and fans of pre Umma Gumma PF, such as myself.

i've never heard of it, just assumed it was some hits album. What is it?

the members of the band themselves have literally said they're not a singles band many times. you're supposed to listen to the albums.

Quite literally a collection of early singles from the period between PATGOD and Saucerful. Quite a bit of Syd stuff on here. Some of the songs made it on to PATGOD, and some of these songs can also be found on the Relics comp. but, as I said, it's an early singles collection.

They probably said that after Syd was left behind.

This album has also been released under the title The Best of Pink Floyd.
