Yes, but I prefer Autechre.
Yes, but I prefer Boards of Canada
Thanks
>Yes, but I prefer Autechre.
Do you recommend any album in particular?
Yes, but I prefer house and non-autistic techno.
He's next.
No. Aphex Twin, Autechre, and Boards of Canada are all garbage. I like real dance music, not gentrified techno for hipsters to listen to so they can feel eclectic.
Yes, but I prefer Flying Lotus
elseq is really good.
They're pretty consistent in general.
There is less than no reason why you can't like both.
Here's one reason for you: Aphex Twin is really fucking bad.
tri repetae is both innovative and accessiable.
draft 7.30 is my personal favorite but not easy listening.
That's an opinion. Not a reason.
I don't really give a shit about Aphex Twin, but Autechre is genuinely good sound design.
does boards of canada even count as hipster dance music? I cant imagine that
Autechre is overly abstract and emotionless bleeps and bloops. They suck all the humanity out of dance music.
Boards of Canada is one of the token dance acts that hipsters have decided to latch on to, making them outrageously popular.
Autechre is not dance music, and I don't see how anyone could think they are.
These days they're closer to post-industrial, and classic Autechre is mostly ambient techo.
Can anyone actually dance to ambient techo?
The best think BoC ever did was the Dead Dogs Two remix.
Fite me.
I'm using the phrase "dance music" as an umbrella term for all techno, house, and breaks.
You're still wrong about Autechre.
Sure, it's cold, but every sound is deliberate, and their live performances are amazing.
It's like what Coil would be doing if they were still alive.
i dont think he's wrong or right.
for some reason this guy just states his opinion as fact, i dont know why he feel the need to do that.

post-african repetitions
Well, we are on Sup Forums.
...
>WYYBEEBUL BE STEALIN N SHIT
Techno wouldn't even exist if it weren't for rich people in synth filled labs making "eclectic" music and Autechre has far more in common with Stockhausen and Coil than it does any techno scene.
his ambient work
>and Autechre has far more in common with Stockhausen and Coil than it does any techno scene

Talentless hack, quite possibly the worst artist signed to warp.
This guy gets it, although Detroit techno is just as important.
wew talk about being stereotypical idm neckbeards
>Not OPN
obvious falseflaging as a /bleep/fag
Yes
I'm industrial.
I don't care for most of what people call IDM, but I do like the places where the genre overlaps with industrial music.
First electronic artist I've listened to.
Don't have any of his albums, just listen to the high quality boots.
Are Autechre really a bunch of plebs?
OP Here

Can anyone rec any harmonically pleasing electrionic music

I don't see the need to qualify all my posts with "It's my opinion that..."
Despite what their fanbase might think, their whole work is just paying tribute to hip-hop and dance music.
They need to make a straight up dance track again.
youtube.com
Why not like both?
>Despite what their fanbase might think,
A great deal of their discography is very obviously derivative of academic electronic music, regardless of what they started out doing or who they sampled. Do you actually expect me to believe that VI Scose Poise is a hip hop song?
Evidently, because he doesn't.
yes, i like post-african repetitions
Feel like he's trying to act contrarian more than anything
It's probably bait
Everything is b8.
This whole thread is b8.
Mm yes tunes like this have absolutely nothing to do with hip-hop or dance music, all about that Stockhausen and Varese.
