>Be 20 year old community college student
>almost didn't graduate high school always C average
>enroll in local cc and end up getting shitty grades first year cant transfer any credits
>have to stay another year to get grades back up a little step back but oh well
>fall into deep depression end up getting put into a 5150 hold that gets extended into 2 weeks
>miss a lot of school
>end up dropping all my classes 3rd semester
>start again this semester and still have shit grades
>one of my classes id have to get A's on every assignment to just scrape by with a C

I might just drop out of college. Any other anons make a decent live for themselves without a degree? I feel so fucking depressed the feeling of inadequacy just swallows me everyday and the fact that Im struggling at the community college level makes me think ill never make it into a university. All my friends left and are at their schools living their life and Im living at home doing nothing but failing school. I dont know what I want to do with my life and I dont even know what I want to major in. should I just give up.

life* fuck this stupid auto spell shit damn

Keep it up user, I'm sure you will get a degre eventually

Stop playing video games and study or read books in your free time.
You make your own grades

>you're still young
>learn a trade(plumber, electrician, carpenter, etc)
>hard work but great money and in-demand job
>eventually start your own business, make own hours, etc
>no debt from school
>pretty good life

Sup Forumsro, I feel you.

I did the same shit when I was your age. Then I went back after being a dropout for a few years. It was slow, because I was on academic probation I wasn't allowed to register for classes until a week or two before the semester began. So it took me a few years just to make up all of the GE coursework I fucked up.

Now I'm about to transfer to a university. I feel more intelligent now than ever before in my life. I can grasp more advanced mathematics, I can put together a 15 minute speech and deliver it, I can write research papers with proper citations and reasoning.

It sucks. I know. But take it from me, keep getting back on that horse until it sticks. Even if you are only taking 1 or 2 courses per semester while you work a full time job. Education is illuminating, and if you pursue it and throw yourself into it I gaurantee you that you will come out better than you went in.

>inb4 hurr durr liberal indoctrination
There is no political indoctrination in the bulk of your courses. There may be some in your English, history, and philosophy courses BUT those courses are meant to intentionally force the student to wrap their minds around controversial contemporary issues for the sake of reasoning. I argued against them in an intelligent and reasonable manner and I had no problems with my professors. If you throw your desk and shout and bitch about dumb bullshit then you're a fucking idiot anyways and deserve to be thrown out of college.

Good luck. As for jobs, I would suggest looking into becoming an electrician OR getting into some IT.

Honestly OP, if you barely got out of high school, you should never have started college to begin with. If you are STILL barely getting by at a community college just forget about a university. It was also not over smart to even start going to a CC without "a major in mind" College isnt a "Ill just show up and eventually ill figure out what I want to do" kind of life choice. That is why the Student Loan bubble is going to burst one day. No one is sitting kids down and telling them "sorry but college really isnt for you. Go apply at the factory down the street, work every day for the next 43 years, and retire with a paid off trailer and a pension for the rest of your life"

You dont need a degree to make a living. Union forklift drivers make $22 an hour. Plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc all make above $20 an hour.

>getting into some IT.

That is possibly the worst advice in the world. IT is so massively over saturated because of diploma mills and CC's pushing it as "the next up and coming thing" it isnt funny. Before I left my last job we had applications for level 2 help desk from people with CS BA's and CCNP certs... for a $17 an hour job.

Then would you mind giving a better piece of advice for OP? Cunt.

...

Work on an assembly line. Similar pay, no education needed, and most large companies have gone union which means a pension instead of a 401k. Forklift driver, quality control specialist (basically screwing on go/no-go to random picked parts), purchasing agents for manufacturers, hell if you are dead set on going to school become a diesel mechanic and specialize on heavy equipment or farm machinery... I can think of a shit ton of jobs that dont require student loan debt, a degree, or much of anything, and STILL pay 20-30 dollars an hour.

Just drop out. Obviously higher education was not for you. No reason in using time that could be spent putting in hours at McDonalds at school, where you don't succeed and are becoming more depressed.

Accept the fact that you're not very smart and just work menial jobs the rest of your life. Half of America does it.

>A
>C
>college
okay summer child

OP how are you at basic math and geometry? Machinists make decent money(18-25 an hour) but the real value is that its extremely easy to branch out and do your own thing nights and weekends. The best part is, CC's are pumping out kids who think they are going to be a machinist, but have been taught nothing more than how to use some calipers and load a preprogramed script into a CNC. If you actually know wtf you are doing, and can run things like lathes, planers, etc that arent computer controlled, you can pretty easily land yourself a managerial position as a shop supervisor after a few years with a company

You're retarded if you think you HAVE to have a degree to make a good living. It's called hard work faggot.

Thats the problem with 90% of kids today. They dont actually have to go to school to make a living. They go to school to get a degree in something that is "easy". They cant fathom ever having a job where they need to do physical labor or even stand on their own 2 feet for 12 hours a day. I have young kids freak out and quit because it was dead slow upstairs and they werent sent down to the warehouse to pick orders for a couple hours. You want me to get up from my cubicle? I could get my shirt dirty down there! Id rather be unemployed than work like a peasant for 4-6 hours this one time!

Thats seriously the attitude of people who made it though the interview process. Imagine what HR catches before it gets into the wild

Wish I'd done this! Every person I know that did this after school is minted. Every person that went to uni has a shitty office job and has thousands in debt!

But I bet they are comfy wearing the business casual outfit in air conditioning/heat while drinking their company provided coffee. To them, the 40-60k in student loan debt was worth it because they will never have 1 bead of sweat on their head from working

Cs in HS and the same story in college means two things. First, you're stupid. High-school is the minimum knowledge you need to not be labeled a retard in society, and you JUST made it. Second, college isn't for you. College is called HIGHER education, and you didn't even want the first FREE one offered to you. You thought you should pay for school just to get C?

Neck yourself because you're too stupid to realize that you are... Well actually stupid.

Education and income aren't necessarily related. Also IQ and income aren't related. Figure out how to make money or get a government job

But college is for everyone! Everyone should have the opportunity to go bankrupt before their 22nd birthday!

Im pretty sure Americans would be shocked at the education system in most first world countries. There is a reason people come to America to study. Almost anyone can get into an American university. Try that in the UK or Germany and the counselors will have no problem laughing at you and telling you to go get a job. School isnt for you. In America they will smile and lie to your face, and gladly accept 10k+ a semester in money for you to warm a chair

>anyone who needs advice so bad that they posted their most depressing pepe

Grow up. /thread

I literally googled "sad pepe" and saved it from the first page in 10 seconds

Its really not OPs fault he is in this situation. Everyone around him has failed to prepare and guide him. His parents have coddled him while reassuring him he is smart and can do anything he wants to in life. The public education system has failed to prepare him for anything other than an SAT test. The teachers and counselors have failed to give him good viable options without pressuring him into going to college "because thats just what you do after high school". The American education system has been so cucked by parents groups it isnt funny. There is a reason this country has so much student loan debt, and that is because in the 1960s or 1970s, those kids would have never been accepted to a University. Now we just accept everyone and let them figure out the rest of their life after they drop out. Making a 600 a month, no dischargable student loan payment is real fun when you bring home 2000 dollars a month

You're a piece of shitYou're a faggot for thinking thatGreat advice. Enlightening

I'm in the same boat as you OP, I am have decent grades in everything except for FUCKING math. I'm still in the lowest math, 2nd semester.

This.

What classes do you need help on?

I graduated and took a gap year. Have no regrets due to having a scholarship that paid for everything. I figured out college is not for me, going to get back and get certified as an electrician at my local community and get apprenticeships around my area. Everyone I know is in college studying liberal arts or paying out their ass for loans. There is always options, it might take time to get to where you want but a trade you can use in life, a lot of degrees don't have the positions that you might aim for. It's a nice backup for later on if I decide to pursue higher education and it doesn't work out.

Same here. I dropped out for a few then got really depressed and went back. Going for an electricians certificate and if I like it ill go in and get my bachelors and. If not I'll stick with my job and find a way to make my body play music. (Real passion of mine)

there are "colleges" like your community college bullshit that will get you nowhere as they have zero professional clout. these are usually state schools and shit-tier schools like university of arizona where it's common to know dropouts and kids basically get fucked up 24/7. these are useless degrees unless you actually have skills and work hard, or have mad connections

the only difference between schools like UCLA or other ivy leagues, and these shit-tier schools, is higher standards (and usually higher tuition). Nonetheless the environment you are in is definitely more academically-focused, and dropping out is usually associated as simply a failure to "make it"

tl;dr unless you're going to a good school or actually want/have made hustle, fuck off and become an electrician like other anons said

yeah the system is all fucked. ignore the ones who dont speak out and fail them if they have bad grades but have proven to know enough about the class subject to pass.

OP here. I honestly think im going to drop out. Even if i decide to stay Id end up only being admitted to low tier universities because of my fucked up transcript. Thank you all for the advice I hope I can succeed despite this outcome.

not op but is accounting consider a trade?

Biggest mistake you can do is give up and live your life working at a retail store or fast food because you don't have the drive to do something. I wish you luck OP, hope you make a good life for yourself.

> """""the system""""""
it's not about the class subjects, it's the entire process of preparing for and applying to college. if you can't begin preparing your essays/applications a couple months before they are due, like most students who go to ""good"" (ivy or top) schools, you don't belong at college.
it's about how badly you want it and how badly you hustle, not how badly """""the system""""" assrapes you - that's just there as a shit-test to get a measure on your drive and determination. if you really have trouble navigating the stormy academic waters of highschool reconsider your life
don't even get me started on grad school

also not op but is computer programing a trade?

high school education is the most useless shit ive ever seen in my life, god damn im so unmotivated to get admission in college cuz everyone is saying college is waste of money and time and ill do better just by starting my own business. idk what to do man, i just wanna live man i dont have interest in any field. fk man i feel like a big failure in life for not liking high school education

White people generally dont work retail/fast food jobs past their teen years (except for costco and walmart lifers) white people generally get labor and production jobs that pay decently enough to afford a trailer and beer money

same man, my maths teacher sucked :@

Even if op passes her still end up with shitty job.
I know this cause I too experienced a similar scenario where the education system has cucked my life and earnings.
But all is not lost op. You can always go to an interview in career job and bullshit your way in like I did and then actually get good at the job.
