Be me

>Be me
>22 years old now, living with parents
>three years ago after graduating high school parents tell me to either get a job, go to college, or move out
>had no idea how to survive on my own or how to even start looking for a job.
>had decent grades so got full scholarship to local community college.
>fuck it. spend three years half assing my way through community college so I don't get kicked out of my parents' house.
>graduated with a 2 year degree in computer science.
>parents have given me the same ultimatum, get a job or move out.
>22 years old, no experience, 2 year degree I barely paid enough attention to earn, no idea what the fuck I want to do with my life or how to even start looking for a job
>No idea how to live on my own
How do I proceed?

Easy as fck.. kill yourself OP!

degenerate

Go work in tier 1 tech support. All you have to do is ask people if they've tried turning it off and on again.

Empty fridge and being short on rent usually motivates people. Dont waste your 20s on vidya and chill. Save up, go travel, find something to get good at.

easy, give up fiction and feeling good about shit that isn’t yours and that you didn’t do.

fictions like:
>drug/booze euphoria
>tv drama
>vg
>porn you’re not in

it’ll suck and you’ll have to deal with how great you aren’t but you’ll actually socialize and figure shit out

hiding indoors lying to yourself about everything being ok and you can be a champ if you want but you don’t want to exert the effort is annathema

Transfer to a better school and get a BS in CS.

Look into schools with virtual and augmented realities.

Proceed with caution.

If they do kick you out, the first thing you should do is apply for food stamps and public housing.

Stay in school, van wilder that shit user. Working fucking sucks unless you have a fulfilling job that you enjoy, but that's rare.

This.

Yeah I've been thinking about this sort of thing alot lately. I've spent so long convincing myself that everything is going to be fine later as an excuse to procrastinate but now I'm in more or less the same position I was in right after high school. It's the unknowns that I'm really afraid of honestly. I've put it off for as long as I can but now there's not really any more getting around it, I have to start supporting myself, something I've never done before, and to be honest that's kind of daunting.

fuck that you don't need more school. go find a helpdesk job. you'll learn a shit ton about how computers work. figure out what you actually want to do. do it.

I'm kind of in the same boat too, user. I'm 22 and idk where to go from here. Luckily my family is lenient on me staying at home, but that just makes me feel even less motivated to take initiative. Finding jobs however isn't too hard, you just gotta not have too high of standards right now. Go to a company website, click Careers, browse for a position that sounds interesting and then fill out the app. Getting a job is the easy part, motivation and the right mindset is the harder end. I wish I could at least have good grades and have went to a community college though haha

It was mostly getting emotionally demeaned by old people and having a series of extremely lucky breaks regarding tests and grades. Being a white male really helped too.

>spent 3 yrs fucking around at community college
>didnt get the 2 year engineering science degree
>missed by 1 humanity
>went to uni last semester anyways
>chemical_engineer.exe
>getting my 2 yr degree this semester tho
>graduating next spring with 4 yr in chem
recap: get a 4 yr degree,I fucked around at community college as well, same age as you. degrees dont necessarily need to be the same, try to use most of your classes from the 2 yr for the 4 yr. If not fuck it man, just gotta apply yourself now, thats all that matters

I was in literally your exact position a few years ago. Here's what you do OP. Ask your parents if they'll pay your way through trucking school. Only takes a few months. My tuition was $7k, got 4k covered by grants so I only had to pay 3k.
Get a job LITERALLY ANYWHERE, the country is dying for truckers. Most companies will reimburse you for tuition, other things. Paid training. Pays really well. Literally all you have to do is learn how to drive a stick, assuming you don't know how already, not run over any curbs, and sit behind the wheel for 8-10 hours a day. Easiest fucking money ever.

same user as this post
you can also get hired as a temp or low tier worker, show initiative, get the rest of the schooling for the 4 yr paid for. Thats the most ideal.

Oh, and also when you're filling out the medical questionnaire, if they can't find it, you don't have it. I made the mistake of telling them I have sleep apnea and it cost me a couple thousand dollars for a CPAP machine that literally makes it impossible for me to sleep. Don't fucking tell them there's anything wrong with you. You're a miracle to modern science. Perfectly healthy.

OP here. This thread gave me a bit to think about. I appreciate the advice. It's three AM right now so I'm going to go to bed

Become.
A.
Trucker.

hmm computer science or trucking? tough decision

sounds like you have decent parents. when can meet them?

I literally have a computer science degree. There are no jobs. There were when I started, but they've all been taken. I'm a trucker and companies are literally asking me how much money I want to start working for them. I'll be making $200-300/day just to sit behind the wheel of a truck and watch the scenery go by.
