Fairly certain they copied the concept and animations for the ghost woman. The beta for that game did not contain it but the finished game that came out after PT has it.
RE6 is like a 5/10 for me but I enjoyed because I co-oped it with my brother. Between the moments of infuriating design we managed to have a laugh. Why did they give the combat-heavy episodes with Chris (where it's a 3rd person shooter with enemies who also have guns and hide behind cover) no ammo and Leon's campaign a fuck-tonne instead tho? The fuck was up with that.

They're not a singular entity. Obviously the people who designed REmake and RE4 had an understanding of game design. RE7 for me is a sign that not everyone who works there now is retarded. Not perfect but I was expecting it to get worse after RE6.

They're Capcom, you can't expect them to be consistent ever, that's their specialty.
Devs are devs, they develop whatever they're asked to, cause they wanna get paid. Publishers publish and can pretty much influence the game to be whatever.
RE6 happened to be a generic survival horror game cause at the time that's what Capcom thought was a great way to be non-committal while also making money.
Also the great words of AAA publishers calling the horror genre "dead"
