Sturgill Simpson is the only good one

Not the only one, Jason Isbell is pretty good. And I like Tyler Childers.

i liked this one a lot

>cant just google a list of "good classic country albums"

You probably will not like country music if you aren't receptive to right wing beliefs.

Red Headed Stranger
One of the few country albums that's solid all the way through

Pretty much this. Highly recommend anything by GP. Even his earlier, 60's fluffy pop stuff is better than 99% of country music. Also the Byrd's and The Flying Burrito Brothers of you're into Grams junk.

Wayne "the train" Hancock

Townes Van Zandt is what you're looking for and more or less all you need (in addition to 12 Golden Country Greats)

what about like post-70s country?

12 Golden Country Greats fucking sucks, desu

Listen to Dwight Yoakam instead

YALL CMON

Country IS trash. Even the "good" country. Are you okay with listening to trash? Obviously you're not going to get country if you don't LET yourself get it. You have to be willing to listen to all the shit on country radio (FM AND AM), all the shit on CMT, all the shit your parents used to play, and you have to be willing to say, "Yes, this is good. I can let myself enjoy this".

Whether or not you think you're too good for country, you're right.

t. literal 15 year old

Non-Trash
Country

Listen to No Other by Gene Clark. It sort of has the pastoral feel of Paris 1919 if you're into that album

The new Mike Judge documentary series about country music is really good

imagine being this much of a pleb
