Everyone I know with an overly-aggressive guitar also has a bright and friendly one. This is the most perfect example.

Heres mine. Have more but not in this house.

beautiful

I've got a bunch of fresh pics of a Gibson Explorer I picked up for a good deal yesterday, but fucking Sup Forums says they're too large.
Other guitars: 2 Jackson dinkys, a Jackson Kelly, Ibanez EX from '93, Fender strat. Running Marshalls. JCM900 4100, JCM2000 TSL 100 and also a DSL100H, which happens to be a kick ass amp too. All into 1960A cabs.

Fuck you for not letting me participate, Hiroshim00t.

You got to have a balance. I don't have any expensive bright and friendly ones though

Goddamn, sounds like a killer setup. Easy fix to the file size problem is to put them in a photo editor like GIMP or PaintNet, reduce the actual image size, then save it as a jpg for good measure.

Here's one pic of it I was able to get to upload

Pretty stoked about it.

Need some help. I have a super shitty guitar and have finally placed aside ~$700 bucks to get a new electric guitar. I mainly play metal since I am an edge boy. Any recommendations?

I’m looking to buy a Strat but the prices are fucked in Australia

Sell the current guitar so you have a bit more cash. Get a midrange Ibanez or an LTD. If you want a good, tight sound, find a guitar with singlecoil-sized rail pickups and get that.

This is what you want.

Jackson Warrior WRX24
>Neck-thru
>floyd for the sick dive bombs
>24 frets
>you could kill a man with it
>Gold hardware
>bitches love it
>duncan designed pick-ups

Any specific models, and can someone brain me on pickups?

I'm originally an acoustic player so electric guitar stuff is foreign to me.

Little too flashy for me, but neato guitaro

What made ya'll get into playing the guitar?

Ibanez RG series is pretty good.

So, pickups 101. They're electromagnetic microphones. Magnets with lotsa copper wire around it. The more wire around the magnets, the higher the output--the sooner the sound starts breaking up and distorting. There are 3 main types of electric guitar pickups: singlecoil, P90, Humbucker.

Singlecoils are good for getting bright, snappy tones, like every surf rock song ever. P90s are more mellowed and even-toned, better for blues or jazz. The thing is, they make a lot of noise (60-cycle hum that's prevalent in all electrical systems). There are noise-cancelling variants, though.

Humbuckers are basically two single-coils hooked up together. One of the coils is wound in the opposite direction of the other, thus cancelling the 60-cycle hum. Humbuckers usually have less high-end prevalence, midrange is more their thing. In addition, the doubled-up coiling means more output than a singlecoil. This is what makes them really good for metal.

A 1986 Ayre. Sup Forumsros...sounds like heaven.

Holy fuck, that's a rare piece you've got. Cherish it.

No problem. Best of luck on your axe hunt.

?

Owner of the bass here
I think it's a japanese rip off brand but I've found nothing about this thing at all

Dixon was a Japanese company, probably a Hoshino/Ibanez sprout-off. That looks to be from the late 80s-early 90s. Probably worth about $180 in that condition. Good ones will go for $350.

Side note, I have never seen P-bass pickups installed backward like that on a right-handed instrument.

Any thoughts on Kramer guitars?
