I have a 4K camgirl vid that is really stuttery when playing on my PC in VLC. It's better in Windows Media Player but still not perfect. I'm sure it's because my PC is kinda old. Is there any east workaround to get them to play smoothly?
Pic related, it's a webm I made from the video. I guess I could just make a webm of the entire video in lower resolution, but don't really want to have to do that.

Well, it's because your PC isn't 'fast' enough to process the data stream from the video file. Downsampling on-the-fly is probably even more intensive then playing it at a native resolution. I guess the only think you can do is to resample the video (ffmpeg or whatever) - try halving the resolution, and see if that works. Keep making it smaller until it's running smoothly.
try mpc-hc or mpv with madvr
thanks. I just downloaded Media Player Classic and it's playing smooth on it. Just never had a problem with VLC, even with other 4K vids, but it couldn't handle that ass I guess.
