I love it, it's filled with bullshit though like every other job. It has it's highs and lows. The highs you experience in this job are better than any other job, and the lows also are lower than other jobs. There is no better feeling of saving a life or knowing you made a difference in someones life in a crucial moment that will live on in their memory forever. But at the same time it's fucked up having to walk in on dead kids and see certain things, but you get used to that for the most part.

No my job does that more than anything. I hate the general public mostly. Seems to be full of literal retards or scumbags at every turn. Sometimes I have resentment towards the fact that I am supposed to treat all these people the same. Some of these people don't deserve that. I respond to a local prison often and am forced to treat child rapists the same as the 80 year old lady who fell and bumped her head. I have to treat drunk who killed someone the same as the teenage friends in the other car who survived the crash. I am not empathetic in my opinion, I just thrive off of being a hero and knowing I got to step up and do badass shit that someone is grateful for. I don't feel bad for most of these people in the slightest, unless they die from something out of their control. But most people seem to write the script to their own demise, be it from poor health choices, wreckless or drunk driving, or just stupid decisions.

I wonder why we watch gore and what the psychology is behind it. I guess I can only explain that in a society where the media desensitizes a lot of what should make us afraid to a degree, such as murder and etc. Maybe some just seek out something more intense as maybe they feel like they've seen it all. People kind of feed off tragedy and misery, think about the movies we watch. We have stuff like Saw, games like Dead Space and it's just gross but maybe it just satisfies people to see the real thing, to see what real life is like and yes, it does desensitize us even further to do this, but maybe some people just throw their morality and stomachs out the window and continue. Are they sick? I don't know. I'm definitely one of those people, I seek out rekt threads to see the new thing. Maybe I am sick, or maybe I'm just bored. Who knows why we seek tragedy and pain.
