I wonder if Nirvana and Oasis would have feuded had Cobain not blown his brains out.

Cobain was extremely invested into maintaining his status as the biggest and most hip rockstar around and Oasis pretty much immediately made grunge obsolete everywhere but the US.

>Good Britpop

No grunge band recorded anything that came even close to these tunes.

that would have been a GOAT feud

>Oasis banters American pucciboi into killing himself anyway

> knows Mansun
> doesn't know Pearl Jam

Pearl Jam is easily the worst out of the big 4 grunge acts.

Grunge had the better guitarists, and the more sophisticated music, and you know it.

I'm gonna stop here because I like Britpop too, but I'd be very surprised to see some of the UK's best guitarists struggle to solo like Corgan or write like Cantrell, or sing like Layne and Cornell.

Doves, Travis and Elbow were good

Bernard Butler was one of the best guitarists of the 90s

Everyone who is into Britpop should check this out, criminally underrated album, probably the most underrated Britpop band along with Puressence

>Cantrell
>Staley
>Grunge
AIC no grunge

thx

You forgot James

He has some good licks, and writes well, but I've never heard him solo like this:

also soma off of siamese dream, and drown, and countless other pretty good ones from Gish to Mellon Collie. But yes, Butler is very good.

>Grunge
>Nirvana
>Alice in Chains
Grunge wins

Can Radiohead be considered britpop?

Radiohead actually were considered Britpop during the Bends era.

Funnily enough, 'Creep' is a rather grunge-ish song.

...you're supposed to list good grunge bands, not ALL grunge bands

My point isn't about quality, it's about fame.

>smashing pumpkins
>grunge
get some ears faggot

ah no way, i wanted to call my band strangelove a couple years back but saw it was taken, didnt think to look into the band was just mad as fuck that they got the name. glad its a good band though and i didnt go for the name anyway

All great grunge, bands nigga like op jus doesn't know

>STP
>Smashing Pumpkins
>Dinosaur Jr.
>Grunge

Yes they are

Smashing Pumpkins had no relationship with grunge whatsoever. They were shoegaze/alt rock.

Eh the Manics never were britpop. The closest they got to that was Everything Must Go, which was like a optimistic Holy Bible with strings.
