Should I cut my hair short? I've been growing it since mid 2015 (last time I had short hair). Somedays I really like it and others I think it looks horrible, and sometimes maintaining it can be tedious. It also looks pretty gross when it's wet.
But I'm worried that I'll regret cutting it, if I do, and then have to spend two years growing it out again.

I think it depends. My hair was as long as OP's up until a few months ago for years and while I do miss my hair, I'm enjoying my bouffant quite a bit. To each his own though
Cut it op, it looks pretty ratty imo. I looks like you're thinning out on top though so I might be worth shaving the whole lot.

stop using shampoo so often

Most important thing you can do: groom your chest hair. This isnt the 1970s. Shave it off your neck, and down a short ways on your chest, side to side, Shape it and shorten all of it.

idk if it's getting thinner but I think I've always had thin hair. I'm pretty confident I'd look good bald or with a buzzcut
