What does Sup Forums think of love? is it real or is it fake and gay? have you ever been in love...
what is love
baby don't hurt me
The feeling of love exists, it's connected to the hormone oxytocin which is triggered either when you are doing things that might enable you to breed or when you've successfully bred, so you'll stay around to take care of your young.
Don't hurt me, no more
It's real in that it's an emotion / mental state. Love is real in the way happiness, sadness, anger, etc. is real.
do you think love goes any deeper than basic primitive survival instincts?
love is great. very real. ofcourse.
personally i feel like people misconstrue love and infatuation. to me, love is something felt between two people who would sacrifice themselves for each other. individuals who lay their minds bare to each other. no secrets. sharing everything.
there are a lot of people who say they are in love when in reality they would not give their everything to the other person in question.
Not really, but companionship and friendship does.
That intense love feeling is bound to fade after a bit, but if your partner is your best friend and favorite companion, it won't go away completely.
Which is what permanent pair bonding is based on.
praxeology
It's real, just not super common.
i agree, most people who i see shit on "love" are whores who've never felt true love in their life but watch too many John Green-esque romance shows and movies so they think they're experts on it
yes
glad some of you fags have brains
:DDD
love is amazing bros
i love my gf
Here’s my interpretation. Love is not a feeling as feelings come and go and at times are easily triggered by stupid shit. I believe love is a fact. Love is not infatuation. Love is the opposite of indifference. It is respect and finding the goodness in each other. Love is unbiased and seeks the well being of others. True love, I believe, is real but very, very, difficult to find. Now as far as it goes for coupled relationships...I do believe there needs to be a level of attraction between each other and an unwavering fondness for each other. Like as mentioned earlier, not an emotion but a fact. The day you love that person is the same way you love them for the rest of your life. But that’s just me.

I saw my grandparents act like high school sweethearts til the bitter end. Pretty heartwarming
I've been in love exactly one time.
After I fucked up and she left me... Well let me put it like this.
I don't believe in hell but if there is one and I do go there; being it the fuck on. Nothing is worse than what I've already been through.
Bring. It. On.
damn i didn't expect to agree with people as much as i am i figured everyone would just be bitter and say love is just a chemical or something but you're totally right
Love is like a commodity. It needs refining.
:0
how so
love isn't dead. people's expectation of what love is is dead.
I used to think love was fake and gay. It turned out that I just wasn't actually in love with the girls i was with. It was more a desire to not want to be alone. Then i met my wife and realized that i had never actually felt that feeling before. 10 years and a couple kids later and i keep loving her more and more each day.
Yeah, when people work on making room for each other being individuals and support each other in their endeavors, the resulting love is inspiring.
Its real, but its easier to find a nigger with a job than proper love.
damn i feel the exact same way man
true love is awesome
real shit
what do you mean? what is people's expectation of love?? like, girls thinking some wimpy sadboy faggot would take a bullet for them or help them through cancer, just like in the John Green books?
Love is a chemical something, just like everything else our brain does, but that doesn't invalidate it's value.
Maintaining love is an active thoughtful choice, that is derived from wanting the best for your partner and vice versa.
yeah, more or less.
and from guy's perspective, thinking some woman will be your delicate little angel who'll never oppose you and enthusiastically go along with everything they want.
It really is. I just want to go to my younger self and shake him and tell him that he just didn't know what the fuck love is yet. The problem is, if you haven't actually had it, how would you know?
That's inspiring man. Good work.
I believe in it.
nice :) ever been in love?
