That's pretty cool. I've never seen that one...
The actual theme song is really good, too.
I heard an episode of Song Exploder podcast where the creator of the show deconstructs the theme and how he came up with it by using toy instruments like ukelele and xylophones.
For easy-listening jazz, that one actually holds up well.
Not sure if it's "good" but it totally fits!

Ironically great song
What the fuck was THAT?
Only on Sup Forums, I guess...
Speaking of, this one's obligatory (but live): youtube.com
Uchoten, one of the "indies big three" of japanese indies scene in the 80s.
That song was written for a TV show about traveling and food or something.

Thanks. Had to look that one up and I love the name THE WILLARD (of the "indies big three").
I don't think I've ever met anyone who likes Mr. Pickles, people are usually really vocal about their distaste for it tho
I like this.
Yeah, the first time I saw it I laughed.
It gets old really quick.
Specifically for a TV show?
I don't think it gets more specific than this:

Both opening and closing songs.
The Williard is the most "post-punk" band of the bunch, so to speak. Could also fall under goth rock or new wave. It's good.
Laughin' Nose is the most punkish.
Uchoten is definitely the weirdest and most exccentric, having a wide array of sounds from punk to post-punk to techno pop and just weird genreless stuff.
This would send me into a bad trip on acid.
Right up there with Rocky Horror Picture show.
Has merit but is extremely annoying.
The Willard reminds me of The Damned.
Uchoten reminds me of The Cure mid-80s.

praise the Sup Forums dance
I learned to play that on guitar a few days ago. Fun song. It would be fun to randomly throw in a set if you were in a band.
God that is unnecessarily long!
Would be cool to listen to while plowing my way down the sidewalk, though.
I must be living in a hole because I've never heard of these until now.
But I'm old so the cartoon themes for me were Spiderman, Duck Tales, Scooby-Doo, or this:

The new Hail to the Chief.

What TV show was it? I haven't heard of it before.
This is fucking terrible
Written for a children's TV station, it apparently made a lot of children cry.
I picture Joy Division as some kind of barbershop quartet with flute backup.
