I would upgrade your CPU and memory first though, since you don't want to waste your money buying DDR3 and upgrading your CPU is fairly cheap. Get a Ryzen CPU, Intel isn't worth it anymore for low-end gaming.

Run MSI afterburner and task manager while you play a game. Whatever is running at 100% needs to be replaced.

Make sure that when you're running the game, all four cpu cores are being used equally. You can do this by using task manager and clicking details and set affinity, disabling the core thats being used at 100% and the re-enabling after.

The i3, i5, i7, and i9 are just the intel core cpu lineup. The new i3 has 4c/4t, new i5 has 6c/6t and the new i7 has 6c/12t or more if you spend a grand. On the other hand, there’s the ryzen lineup which I personally don’t fuck with due to shit being made specifically for intel. And yea if that’s happening in TM you definitely need a new cpu mobo and ram

... If it's for a company, then make sure that they supply the hardware and don't use your own. Sometimes it's not about clocks and shit, it's about security shit, some companies will supply a computer to make sure that whatever is done is on their own "turf" so to speak.
