Now I've just started this series, but it feels like the characterization of the protagonist is a little all over the place.
He's suppose to be this anxiety ridden schizo-hacker, who fucks pretty girls, does drugs, has friends and gets invited to parties?
You are just realizing this now? One of the biggest complaints this show's recieved has been regarding the flimsey nature of the main character.
He's clearly autistic and Hollywood has never been good at portraying the illness realistically. They want a gold star for "inclusion" but the character always winds up being a typical normalfag with some hilarious quirks thrown in just for show.

Finish the season at least before complaining, I agree about the neighbor, but you're also complaining about stuff the show has a reason for.
Honestly is pretty much spot on.
The show has a good message, but it's proclaimed incredibly poorly by a character that comes across as more of a parody than anything.
He hates a society where he's given beautiful young girls, a great job where he's deeply appreciated, tons of consequence-free drugs and probably makes more money than the show's willing to admit (system security engineers are usually stupidly well paid, even in small corporations).
My point is that he's a guy who hates society without having any real reason TO hate society.

I'm an aspie myself and naw, there's nothing evolved about it. Different perspective, maybe, but it's not objectively better in any way (and often times worse IMO).

I don't think autism or asperger is an "evolved form of intelligence" in the traditional sense.
I think it may be the result of a society that demands only specialists.
There is no room in modern society for jacks of all trades. Instead we want people with lots of knowledge in extremely specialized fields.
Autism is the perfect form of that, but it comes with side-effects we're usually not ready to deal with.
