there are several issues, in fact there are so fucking many of them i don't even know where to begin

their only goal is to promote ideology and as you can guess it's pretty bad since you don't make good movies with a flawed and dishonest ideology behind it

in practice this means actors get paid absolutely OUTRAGEOUS amounts (the average french movie is somehow twice as expensive as the average american movie) for movies that are commercial failures, all on the taxpayers' money

there's a few salvageable ones like OSS 117 but most of it is terrible
