This is MOTY. Too bad Sup Forums will dismiss it because

>DUDE GAY/BLACK/POOR LMAO

Bro Sup Forums will dismiss anything that's not cape shit. Everyone on this board just cares about memes or obscure Russian directors who made black and white soundless movies in 1903. There is literally no good place for movie discussion that's not some Reddit type bullshit or pretentious as fuck

What's it about? What did you like about it?

thats not kubo and the two strings

Have even you seen it OP?

DUDE I'M GAY AND I'M IN THE HOOD

10/10 CHANGED CINEMA FOREVER

Its the best anti black film of this decade

But that's not The Nice Guys (2016)

t. hotheads

dont black guys turn ghey in prison ? isnt that a right of passage for black men to go to prison ?

arent all black guys ghey ?

AYO YOU WUZ SAYIN'
WE WUZ FAGS N SHEIT?

hey take it easy guys, as a black man struggling with his sexuality im gonna need you fellas to cool it.

as a white, heteronormative male I apologize on behalf of my race, is there anything I can do to help ease your struggle?

I haven't even heard of it. Tell me why it's good.

yea but its gonna involve a cucumber and great aim.

what did he mean by this?

No, this is.

If you fuckers can't answer these simple questions you aren't really here to discuss movies.

More like Moon Cricket

watched it this past weekend simply because of the trailer. visually different and beautiful considering the only backdrops are mostly a street in the ghetto, dining table, and school.

the gayness isnt heavy handed as in constantly needing to romping each other, more than just tense talking and thats really towards the end. and the plot... is a coming of age story - there's no sugar coating

visually its great, and i give it credit for something shot in such mundane locations .

The trailer really looked interesting 2bh

Whenever I see African-Americans give a self-pitying look to the camera, like they haven't enough sense of good drama to know that simply beseeching the audience for sympathy won't cut it, I give the work concerned a miss.

>no romp scenes

I want that, though. When will this middlebrow nonsense of 'tasteful' sex scenes end? We have access to hardcore porn, for free, in seconds, whenver we want now. We need some sense of real sensuality in movies. If this film featured scenes of feral, Minotaurian male sexual behavior, I would have watched it. I don't just want to see Hearts and Flowers, I want to see merciless cocks and needy, hungry assholes.

a gay romp scene would literally be the climax (ho) of the movie and devalue everything before and after it

blue is the warmest color had like... at least 10 minutes of lesbo action and i totally forgot it that until now

That's not a self-pitying look to be honest.

That's not Hell or High Water

so the movie's just about a black guy being gay?

Why do people think like this? Sex scenes don't devalue a movie. Getting to the point of admiring people like Caitlyn Jenner while still somehow believing that sex is dirty and wrong is why the English-speaking world is so fucked up, and why the people talking most about sexuality are the frigid tragedies on tumblr.

>so the movie's just about a black guy being gay?

Yep, like Isaac Julien never existed, like all of this stuff wasn't done better in movies that weren't Oscarbait.

How else would you describe it?

Black people are homophobic, but touching balls in prison isn't gay according to nignog logic.

>dont black guys turn ghey in prison ?
Yeah. It's called 'gay for the stay.'

More like starless night because that nigger is fucking black

I want to see it but honestly im just waiting for the BRrip
seems like its going to be pretty good

>start with retarded/silly/indefensible position
>proclaim no one else shares your opinion because of your victim complex

Classic Sup Forumsmblr mentality. Fuck off

This is it, you see that neon aesthetic, already pretty played out, used on an essentially non-reflective surface, and you think 'is this filmmaker likely to evince a strong understanding of kino-ology? Alas no, he's a daft cunt I reckon'.

but OP thats not hell or highwater

This is legit the best movie I have seen this year. I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion about it on this board from the few who are actually serious about cinema

That's not Elle Fanning, what are you, faceblind?

the only threads that manage to hang around are capeshit, anti-capeshit, stuff that belongs in Sup Forums, the same five television shows over and over again, is this kino is this kino is this kino, the epic meme of the week, this week being scarlett is/isn't fat based on one still from gits, and the constant flood of pedobait and cuckporn threads. in the rare instance there's any extended discussion, it invariably devolves into some inane polemic of elitist vs populist, libtard vs alt right, i'm right vs no, i'm right, etc. this has got to be the board with the least real discussion and most shitposting on this site, which is quite an achievement given competition like Sup Forums and Sup Forums.

that's a really nice promotional poster

torrent?

How is it not online yet??????

Post the Armond.

You should help to change this, then, my posts are incredibly good, check out this tasty shit, , but I don't see you engaging with them.

three negatives do not make a positive

What board would you like it to be like, then?

Honestly, it actually was pretty good. What this movie does that so many other black movies triggering Sup Forums don't do is have the story be about black people without having to be about race relations. I don't remember any white people in the movie, and there's no sense of racism whatsoever (unless you view the ghetto conditions and cultures themselves as being a product of racism). Not that tackling racism in movies is bad, but it's so poorly done and usually just acts to ride the coattails of stuff like BLM, which not only alienates people but also dates the movie significantly in the next few years from now. Moonlight was refreshingly detached from most Hollywood tropes, and while I have a few problems with it, I'd still call it a good movie over all. Not the best movie I've ever seen by a long shot, but better than I can say for most movies.

If you have an open mind, it's comfy SOL. AOTY.

Find me one thread like this in the past month with more than 10 replies, and I'll shut up.
