No it's shit.

The Santa Clause and Family Man are Christmaskino though

One of the worst animated movies. Didn't even hold up in the year it was released.

>that kid who literally has mandark's voice

It's so fucking bad.
It's one of the worst cases of uncanny valley I've ever seen.

I giggled when I heard it the first time.

Hanks is the only redeemable part of this movie.

I've been forced to watch this three times in school. It's shit

No, this is

Only worth it if you saw it in IMAX on a big ass screen

If christmas 'kino' exists, it is most likely a Christmas Carol adaptation.

>not posting A Muppet's Christmas Carol

This is mandatory Xmas viewing

Is that from the Jim Carrey Grinch?

>People actually criticise it for being a "downer" and making the Fucking Grinch a cynical bastard who has an actual reason to hate Christmas, instead of being Dick Dastardly for 90 minutes

Why is this so underrated?

It's practically an animated christmas horror movie, it's awesome

Jingle All The Way

The story of the original was way better. Turning the Grinch who was just a jerk who saw the error of his ways into a lonely heart who was pushed out for being different is some hackneyed BS. His redemption is what's interesting not his backstory.

Why do people hate this? I enjoyed it as a kid.

It's pretty terrible.

There's really no reason at all for it to be an animated film. I get the feeling it wanted to appeal to kids but they kept the original dialogue, which kids certainly wouldn't be able to grasp.

When it got to the chase sequence with tiny Ebenezer I checked out. There are far better adaptations.

don't go throwing around words like terrible if you don't know what they mean

The undisputed king of Christmas movies

No

What was his fucking issue?

There's nothing interesting about his redemption if he's got no reason to need redeeming, hence Dick Dastardly.
Unless he has something to move past, the redemption is just a footnote.
If he's "just bad" then when he turns good, he's "just good".

You could argue that his story had no reason to be in a feature length movie where there has to be a more defined narrative than that, and we could probably agree there, but as long as the movie exists, this is how it has to work, or it will be much, much worse.
