Ok...Decided to listen to this album since it was free and was bored...but I have to say they really exceeded my expectations. One of the best rock albums I listen to this year.
Is there any other of their stuff I should try out? Any other similar new bands with their style?
Nonagon and Mind Fuzz are their best.

Their first few albums are super lo-fi surf rock and not particularly good. Float Along is pretty good and came out before Mind Fuzz, but Mind Fuzz is probably the best starting point. Go chronologically from there, and go backward later if you want more.
I'd say go in chronological order from mind fuzz and then listen to Quarters, then Float Along if you want more
Closest of theirs to polygondwanaland would be microtonal banana or quarters, but it's not exactly the same kind of stuff.
Might also check out Goat, again not exactly the same kind of stuff but some similarities to poly. You'll probably like Thee Commons too. Methyl Ethyl, Sugar Candy Mountain, Brian Jonestown Massacr, Chui wan. None of this is really the same but youll probably like it. Depending on what you like about gizz looking into some krautrock might be worth your while.
Thee Oh Sees is most similar to their eariler sounds.

Eyes like the sky is absolutely fantastic. The only albums id consider not particularly good are 12 bar bruise oddments, which are still decent with some gems.

Sure, but it's more like a radio play than a music album. Obviously I wasn't referring to it when I mentioned surf rock. It's definitely worth checking out if OP wants something completely different

I think King Gizzard is cool af and I respect them for keeping rock alive, but I don't like surf or psych, and all their songs basically sound the same.
Are there any other rock bands with even a modicum of relevency that don't suck? These guys seem to be the only one.
I think it's more than the songs in the the same album sound similar. Rather than all their songs. You have to remember they've released albums such as Sketches, Quarters, Paper Mache Dream Balloon, also their much earlier stuff. All very different sounding to other records.

King gizz created modern music. Everything from microtones to spoken word, 9/4, the repeat button but on an album, albums, eggs, basically everything new in the past 150 years is a king gizzard and the lizard wizard invention (yes, I know about Kevin parker and jimmy page and the rest who played their part) or developed and made what it is in king gizz music. That spirit of innovation only exists through king gizz which is why the best and the brightest from around the world listen to them to study and work. Do not be fooled by the media. Innovation by the gizz still exists and if you listened to Polygondwanaland you'd understand, king gizz is still innovative and the smartest people in the world listen to their music.
I really wish they had just released one great record this year instead putting out four average gimmicky ones.

Start with Float Along/Fill Your Lungs are work chronologically from there, but there are some fun little gems in the first few albums too.
Nonagon is their best imo, I'm sure most people would agree.
New album was pretty cool too, but I think they could have had 2 albums with a lot of fat trimmed and it would have been better, but they were all pretty ok.

Yeah pretty much. If anything, it takes skill to know when to stop working on an album or a song, and just call it finished. You can work on something forever without improving it significantly, or even totally ruin it.
