Rolling Stone: top 50 albums of the year

rollingstone.com/music/lists/50-best-albums-of-2017-w511763

Any thoughts? The top 10 made me wheeze

the year isn't even over yet..

bad

that list is a joke itself

>opening sentence contains the word "resistance"
dropped

This would be a better cover

I'm too lazy to transcribe but
10. Sam Smith - The Thrill of it All
9. Migos - Culture
8. QOTSA - Villains
7. TAylor Swift - Reputation
6. Khalid - American Teen
5. LCDS - American dream
4. Ke$ha - Rainbow
3. U2 - Songs of Experience
2. Lorde - Melodrama
1. Kendrick Lamar - Damn

#7 is un-ironically Taylor Swift. Rolling stone is shit and I trust them less now

Harry Styles > Japanese Breakfast and Paramore

Those are some of the very few albums I've heard from this list and it's what jumped out at me as wrong.

Lust for Life is on it so I'll give them that

Oh shit sorry about that man. Mine was just taking forever to load. Thank you.

Actually impressed to see Jlin on there, don't know why they said BO is footwork inspired when it literally is footwork though

Thank de lort

Why the fuck does Rolling Stone have such a hard on for U2? They've made approximately 0 good albums ever.

>The sound-effect hooks come from keyboards and their own mouths, each bwah, skrrrt, brrrup signifying their ability to transform nothing into something, and back again, in a blink

I don't know if I hate white people or black people more

this list is trash

Which album?

>being underage on Sup Forums.org

>No Ariel Pink

>We, so tired of all the darkness in our lives NOWHERE TO BE SEEN
>Memories Are Now NOWHERE TO BE SEEN

Nice "list" you have there, Rolling Stone.

Their list is always the fucking worst of the year.

>Luv Is Rage 2
>17
>Dua Lipa
>FUTURE
>We, so tired of all the darkness in our lives
nice reddit list you've got there, pal

Those are all bad albums user

Why are publications releasing their lists so fucking early? Also this is an embarrassing list holy shit

>Why are publications releasing their lists so fucking early?
Seriously this. Rough Trade, CoS, Drowned in Sound, Paste Magazine, BBC 6 Music, NME, The Indepedent, and a few others have already released theirs. Some as early as the beginning of this month.

So what the hell happens to the albums that get released after then?

relegated to the annals of history

So who has the best list so far?

where is Crawl Space

December is generally seen as a dumping ground for shit albums

>Liam & Noel's albums tied
absolutely devilish

It's because they don't want to get overshadowed by Pitchfork's list week (first full week of December, with the songs and albums lists getting posted the following Monday and Tuesday, respectively) and Fantano's list week (second full week of December).
It's like college football bowl games: no one gives a shit about UAB and Ohio in the Bahamas Bowl a solid week and a half before the major bowl games, but they do it then so people might actually tune in to watch it.

there's literally still a month until the year ends

you seriously overrated fantano and p4k's relevance in the music realm

Rolling Stone is NME tier shite

For music criticism/news? Regular people check social media, their Spotify or Apple Music recs, or ask their friends for music. For the small percentage of people that actually care about how a media conglomerate arbitrarily ranks albums, Pitchfork and Fantano are the biggest names. You could make an argument for Rolling Stone and Billboard, and that's about it.

read the rolling stone, paste and nme lists and nme is unironically the least shit so far, not saying much though

fantano is literally just a Sup Forumstant with a camera

doesn't change the fact that he has over one million people who care enough about his opinion to alert themselves when he posts a video, not to mention around 300K on Twitter. There's some overlap, yeah, but I highly doubt that there's 1 million Sup Forumstants. He might be one of us, but most of his followers are not.

>foo fighters
>beck
>sam smith
>queens of the stone age
>taylor swift
>kesha
>U2

jesus fucking christ, could they be any more detached from reality?

>The sound-effect hooks come from keyboards and their own mouths, each bwah, skrrrt, brrrup signifying their ability to transform nothing into something, and back again, in a blink.
>each bwah, skrrrt, brrrup
>bwah, skrrrt, brrrup

Can't believe I'm reading this

>implyling 1 million people like his opinions
I just watch him to tell other people how wrong he is

holy fucking pleb

>not even december
god rollingstone is trash. the only way they can get clicks is if they get it out first i guess

no they aren’t
>everything I don’t like is reddit!!!!!!

>the best albums released by artists you're already familiar with

>not instinctively knowing they're talking about migos
bruv

>flowerboy
>" ÷ "
>lil peep

soyest post of all time

Kesha is the funniest one.

"After her legal travails, anything Kesha released would have a veneer of triumph."

Taylor would deserve Number 7 if she was obese, but right now she doesn't.

Nice quads btw

>bwah

Lester Bangs rolling in his stone

This list is more Instagram than Reddit 2bh

Will someone post the list so we don't all have to give Rolling Boomer 50 fucking clicks per person?

Sun rises, night falls, and a list of this years "greatest" albums is a bunch of hot garbage because it was made by a bunch of normies. Pic unrelated.

>Lana not #1

jiggaboo rap needs to fuck off

>any top 50 list without common as light and love are red valleys of blood
how is this possible
