Quantum Leap
Bombs Away

Rights for gays
Too much money

...

literally the worst song from this album, what a shameful display user.

I will definitely allow Quantum Leap on the list

You are just wrong. There is nothing else beyond you being wrong here. Incorrect to say the least. Your statement and truth do not intersect, simply put.

my mom used to have this picture hanging in the living room

I'm Only Human
Just Wait Till Next Year
It Takes Times
Quantum Leap
We Can Breakthrough
Bennington
This is the Beat

You do have a point, The Crucifix is probably the worst, but Hey Moon goes right after, not much better though.

You say the Bennington music video using that Vanilla Ice movie on youtube? Surprisingly great.

Simple formulaic emo-ish ballad, noteworthy mainly for being poorly mixed

What? It is full and warm and no element takes undue prominence. How can you say this?

Didn't watch the movie, but I saw that video, it's well made I guess. Why are you posting Tsutomu though?

I guess the cinematographer for Spielberg did the vaniila ice movie. Interesting how the light shines through the trash it was intended to be.

As for Nihei, his art is wonderful. Might as well just attach things to my posts since I'm replying anyway. Perhaps someone will discover something they like that they otherwise would not have. Seems like an effortless and potentially beneficial endeavor.

>It is full and warm and no element takes undue prominence. How can you say this?
That's a really bad way to mix music.
You need the voice that is carrying the melody to swell and rise above, and everything else to ebb and sink underneath a bit.
If all the voices are too balanced you get warm, fuzzy incoherence.
Dynamics have to be dynamic, constantly moving, every individual voice adjusting to each new situation the song takes them through and the balance of the whole shifting to color individual phrases, even individual notes.
Flat dynamics and all the voices balanced out is just a wall of beige.

It all depends upon the gestalt of the music is. Some music benefits from having stong dynamic elements and high contrast (Arca) and some music benefits from melting together into a liquid mass (lo-fi balck metal) Dynamics are not inherently good and homogeneity is not either. The total effect is the final end and all of the elements are subservient to this. greatness can manifest itself in many ways and in the case of Maus, the melding of sound enhances some of his tracks and the distinctiveness (Bennington) enhances others.

The original cut with Cop Killer is better, not only is Maus lip-syncing/performing to it in the video, it just fits the whole scene better thematically. Hey Moon, while good, was added in by AS censors, apparently Maus didn't even know they had done it before it aired.

but the original is better

One of those songs that strikes you the first time you hear it.
