Just sing whenever you get the chance, your vocal chords are like any muscle and the more you use it the stronger it will get. I think I still sound pretty bad but when I compare old recordings of my voice to new ones I do notice a world of difference. Singing along in the car is nice too. Try to sing along to stuff that is both kind of difficult for you but not outside of your vocal range.
