It's a good, relaxing album, but wayyy too skeletal for ambient enthusiasts. There was an ambient thread yesterday I think, and a surprising amount of people loathed Eno's ambient projects – especially Music for Airports.
I myself love it, but I totally understand where their critics are coming from. It does tend to fall short when compared to stuff like The Tired Sounds of Stars of The Lid, Selected Ambient Works I and II, Pop and even Eno's further projects in the genre.
