What do you think of the release gimmick on this one...

What do you think of the release gimmick on this one? Innovative stunt or are they just shifting the burden of production onto the fans?

Both

fpbp

this but its not a bad thing. theres a lot of cool editions of this record from a lot of labels and the actual music itself is good too.

Thee Chad Oh Sees
>Great songwriting and instrumentation
>Weird but interesting lyrics
>Gets you art hoe gfs

Why can't you just, you know, enjoy both artists? We're lucky to have them.

Fucking tribalism man

Because King Gizzard has literally one song

Early shit was tite but once they gained a following over here in the US they gave up on ever writing new melodies

You b8ing m8? Your comment doesn't bear up to scrutiny when you listen to how different the 43287 songs they released this year sound from one another.

Also
>Great songwriting and instrumentation
I assure you people who enjoy King Gizzard believe this is a characteristic of that band.

King Gizzard legit has been recycling the same riffs and melodies for like 4 years

Then how is it that they released 4 albums so far this year that have little in common in terms of riffs and melodies?

When you make shit music you can shit it out easily

I think you need to get your ears checked mate. I like gizz, but a lot of their shit does sound the same.

Nah user is right. I listen to Polygond and then listen to their other shit and it's literally like the same main riff and the same time signatures desu... it's not bad music it's just very very similar and diminishes the replay value a lot

Let's hear some examples. Take me track by track through the new album and show me where there's precedent in their other releases. At this point I'm dismissing you all as troll because there is no evidence to support your position.

Obvious b8, if anything gizz needs less variety not more

Polygond is like one big song, returning to previous parts, recycling lyrics and riffs, which as a musician i can hear similarities in in their other work. obviously their first few albums and paper mache are the few exceptions but it really does get repetitive hearing it from the perspective of a musician

yall know this is just my opinion, right?

you've never touched an instrument in your life cunt
i'm out

How are they "shifting" the responsibility on to fans by giving them the opportunity to make money off it?

You think Gizzard couldn't have easily sold out 2000 copies of this on LP in a few hours? There's no risk for them; all their limited editions sell out super quick.

Wrong cunt, you're "out" of my fucking country you gustavo wog cunt

Right so melodies are the only defining factor and creativity with instrumentation or lyrical themes can go die in a fire, good to know.
This onslaught of albums is why I love this band. They're not doing it because they think they can pull it off no biggie, they're doing it to challenge themselves.
Even if they can't pull it off I will still prefer it over the autist perfectionist mindset most bands and producers follow.

LMAO if you think redditors don't like Thee Oh Sees too.

This

>releasing music for free is a gimmick
damn i listen to a lot of gimmick artists then

show me how to buy the vinyl for this without paying thousands of dollars to press it?

could say the same about most other free releases, whats your point?

>t. every gizz song sounds the same bandwagon

Not to mention the last one before the MHC collab had riffs lifted not only from their own previous work, but from Thee Oh Sees then-most-recent full length as well

>bandwagon
M8 I guarantee you I have been listening to this band longer than any of the 16 year olds kn this board. After the first few records they started recycling the same song.

>implying that NGRI Bloodstain sounds the same as Road Train
>implying that Nuclear Fusion sounds the same as Lonely Steel Sheet Flyer
>implying that Altered Beast sounds like Slow Jam 1

elaborate

meant for you
