What's the most debatable/important historical topic in your country?
In Belgium it's WW1, becasue our poor cunt was bullied by Germany and we like to white about it a lot
WW1 topic usually overshadows WW2 here
What about your countries?

90% of historical discussions and 99% of our historical cinema are about our Civil War.
It makes sense tbdesu. Many families haven't been able to identify their murdered ancestors, to the present day. Also, we're probably the only European country with streets still dedicated to high-profile people of our previous dictatorial regime.
> tfw no Ulica Bieruta in Poland, Avenue de la Division SS Charlemagne in France or Quislingsgaten in Norway, and we're the exception to the rule
the role of nobility in the fall of PLC
the validity of uprisings
interbellum politics and whether we were fascist or not
Do people still take sides or do they just wish the war had never happened?
Can you advise any good film about Spanish Civil War?
For some reason, I always found this topic interesting.
>the validity of uprisings
what did you mean by that?
The most sensitive topic is the need for the implementation of a secular government to achieve stability
Cue hundreds of angry muslim commentators demanding your head
most of our uprisings were detrimental to the national cause and it's still debated whether they were worth the effort
I though it's out of question, considering how nationalistic your country is
that's why you probably shouldn't question Warsaw uprising if you value your health and reputation
older ones are fair game
People are VERY politicised because most of us have lost family members to the war or the postwar repression. So their stories have been passed on by the family. That war was savage. My dad's aunt was jailed age 16 because her father had been a Socialist mayor years before. Fascists wouldn't even give her water since they expected her to die of thirst. My grandmother's uncle was a Catholic priest, and for this single reason commies gauged his eyes out, tied him to the ankle of a horse and rode the horse dragging him full speed to the wall where they shot him. My dad never met his grandpa because he was a victim of postwar repression. '36-'39 and beyond was pure brutality.
In general, left-wingers wish that the war had never happened and that we had developed a progressive republic like France or Ireland, while right-wingers argue that the war was unavoidable and even necessary to keep Spain as part of Western civilisation.
I'm not a fan of Spanish cinema but "Ay, Carmela" (1990) and "La Vaquilla" (1985) are watchable.
Location of an ancient kingdom Yamatai-koku.
F&I War
Around 95% is about the muh Liberation war. After all, a stepping stone in our nationalism and culture is bending over for the Russians.
>In Belgium it's WW1
Not creation of your artificial masonic "country" in 19th century?
Warsaw and January uprisings were pointless, but the rest were valid.
Thanks for posting
November and Kościuszko's were equally stupid
make a guess :^|
No idea.
The creation of the concept of a united German peoples during the Napoleonic Wars?
can't remember any interesting historical events in germany
we simply began to develop in 1945, nothing noteworthy preceded that
I suppose it would be the whole colonies things that make the heat goes up when it come to history.
The clear and irrefutable inferiority of Forklift Simulator 2016 to Forklift Simulator 2015?
this shit is annoying desu
Frenchmen kinda really opressed nigs some centuries ago, but I really hate how French MSM focus on that subject
Seriously, watching France24, I have a feeling that it's some sort of pan-african TV channel
Ha-ha (not that funny, actually). They are here.
>> All those ulitsa Leninskaya, Leningradskaya, Revolyutsionnaya, Tuchachevskogo, Frunze and so on
I believe I can find some streets named after Spanish communists, maybe not in my city but still.
learning about shitty people, Canada too young to have spicy history
That's quite the thing actually. People don't agree if colonization was a bad thing or not. It's still somewhat debated between right and left.
(like was muh algeria war evil)
The US cucking us since 1900
...
I though it's about South/North
Spanish Civil War
a lot of retards bring pure political gibberish into historical events and distort the reality of the war
There are constant idiots who attempt to invoke religious authority in every debate, the retards here feel the decades old war for imposition of Sharia and the secession were justified
i wish russia was at your place. maybe this shithole wouldn't be such a poor corrupted excuse of a country now
DES
>selfhater
Time to stop, my friend.
Ay, Carmela is a nice movie btw
We still feel bad for not getting all the skypes, sorry world.

Nobody really debates anything. Some leftists try to claim that things would be amazing if the Reds had won the Civil War but mostly the leftists have turned against Russia so now they're trying to forget that they were ever pro-Russian.
Leftists mostly don't even try to shame us for siding with Germany for Operataion Barbarossa since we only fought Russians.
1917. First Marxist revolution in the world.
First sexual revolution. First cultural revolution etc...
But in 1927 year everything become fucked. Country is too obsolete, majority of population are stupid serfs, in result Stalin become new Tsar and execute all communists and trasform USSR into copypast of Russian Empire.
>many rebellions during the first and second monarchy
>the South's attempt of becoming independent
>Paraguay War
>Republican coup in 1889
>the "republic of coffee and milk"
>The Vargas dictatorship
>Integralists (fascists) vs Commies
>Military dictatorship vs Commies
>all presidents since the end of the dictatorship vs Commies
>Commies get in power
>Commies get out of power last year through impeachment
>everyone vs Commies, again (present days)
All of these periods/events are still being discussed :P
partitions for 12 years
uprisings for 12 years
butthurt for 12 years
