Misunderstood
and disillusioned,
I go on describing this place
and the way it feels to live and die.
The “natural world”
and whatever else it’s called
I drive in and out of town
seeing no edge, breathing sky
and it’s hard to describe
without seeming absurd.
I know there’s no other world:
Mountains and websites
Dark smoke fills the air
some from the fire in my house
some from me driving around
I could see the lights of town
through the trees on the ridge
on my way home in the dark.
I meant all my songs
not as a picture of the woods
but just to remind myself
that I briefly live.
The gleaming stone
the moon in the sky at noon
there is no other world
and there has never been.
I still walk living sleeping
life in the real world of clouds
clawing for meaning.
Still when I see branches in the wind
the tumultuous place where I live
calls out revealing.
“Can you see the river in the branches
and know that it means you will die
and that pieces are churning?”
“Can you find a wildness in your body
and walk through the store after work
holding it high?”
I’ve held aloft some delusions.
From now on I will be perfectly clear:
There’s no part of the world more meaningful
and raw impermanence echoes in the sky.
There is either no end
or constant simultaneous end and beginning.
A pile of trash
the fog on the hill
standing in the parking lot squinting.

obscure gorillaz song, really low fidelity (24kbps)
I kind of feel like you have to be somewhat retarded to have this song come to mind when you think of beautiful music
below is a song that I think is perfect in every way

I think this is the only song that can always bring tears to my eyes.
Gay as fuck I know.
But true.
My mom has this on vinyl. This is probably my favorite song on the album, or the one about the car.

I wish I could experience an event in my life that makes me feel how this song sounds
Mount Eerie is so fucking boring
you just sound like a dick dude. were in a thread posting about music we think is beautiful and your criticism is that something is "boring"
calling something boring is usually boring and lazy. post a beautiful song that isn't boring then. fuck you.

Being trippy with the love of your life, great song
this whole soundtrack is so beautiful. especially Blade Runner Blues. the new BR movie was pretty great but it was a hell of an uphill battle trying to compete with this score
Agreed. If you don't have it already, I suggest getting The Esper Edition of the original soundtrack. There are a lot of extras on there that aren't on the official release.
The new movie had a fantastic soundtrack too. It's not Vangelis, but it's superb in its own way

Also, pls recommend more like this.
the guitar in this track is simply beautiful

It's not quite the same style, but I think you'll enjoy this

Okay so is this guy a meme or do people legitimately like him? He sounds like BAD lofi bedroom folk. Like his songs have incredible lyrics that are just killed by boring fucking vocals and uneventful structure.
p gud, thanks!
not similar but I like it

The vocalist offering a crisp breeze of sound alongside, though moreso underneath, the instrumentation. At times heightening early, like >1:17
>1:30
Then the build-up begins.
She's louder now, but still a part of the whole.
>2:38
I swear there's Final Fantasy battle sounds.
The whole album was a grand experience, but especially this track. Helps I got into during October, because it has a "witchy" feel to it.
amazing. thanks
Anytime user.

I really appreciate when a crescendo has a sense of desperation in getting to it. This song has a few and it sounds like the singer wants to yell at something but is trying to keep his composure. Really disappointed that this album didn't get the attention it deserved this year.

Pick one
the first track on this is :') in a v weird way
Honestly, I think most of his music is beautiful
>He sounds like BAD lofi bedroom folk.
How? Everything on that track is beautifully produced and subtly dynamic. It's of course a slow, pensive track, but the way the guitars begin to get more energetic and the percussion and backing vocals come in give it some real emotional weight.
I guess he's not much of a singer but personally I think it works for the music and lyrics.
If I could make a song like that in my bedroom I'd be over the moon

always gets the tears flowing
not really a song
