Why did she end up with the jock? It literally doesn't make any sense.
Why did she end up with the jock? It literally doesn't make any sense
Because at the end of the day all of your waifus desire to be fucked by Chad.
>the only one who didn't get the girl was the one who did the work for everyone else
Too close. Be a dick every now and then.
I haven't watched it in about a year, but I think they were trying to make the point that she isn't really as much of a weird outcast as she acts, and mostly just does that for attention. The fact that she could make the jock immediately fall head-over-heels for her once she looked a bit more normal shows her social potential lying underneath that hard exterior.

then why do ugly nerds not attract charismatic beauties???
checkmate
tv wouldnt lie fuck you.
I meant opposite personalities attract dingus there obviously needs to be physical attraction, ugly nerds usually have no personality nor charisma.
The movie wasn't a message about "being yourself".
Quite the opposite.
It was a showcase of how contemporary culture is the hammer that pounds the crooked nail of independence and uniqueness flat.
Everyone will give up what makes them special to belong. It's just reality. This whole movie is basically "Haha look at all these crazy characters with all their quirks and unique personalities" and then seeing those personalities get "killed off" as the movie progresses. The final shot was Bender's last rebellion. The final, desperate, futile cry before death, of the last soldier on the losing side of a war. It would be the last time we, or him, ever see the character we knew as "Bender" before he too becomes another Chad or suit.
The "weird girl" became a Stacy, just like any girl will do to be accepted, because at the end of the day, it's human nature to desire solidarity with a community. Being unique and independent isn't as useful as having lots of friends and family to help you survive. It's a sad truth that this movie laments.
so this movie was a redpill ?
no its just a bunch of shitty archetypes getting together pushing bullshit.
Because women want a guy who can actually do shit with their lives.
Think about it from a females point of few, would you want to be with a guy who couldnt provide you with a nice home, good dick, and a healthy family?
why critics liked it btw ?
>good dick you say...
You have convinced me user.
saturday detention

I'd rather have a gentleman that can appreciate a good Kino.

She looked way hotter before her "makeover" in the film.

Surprisingly good and astute post for Sup Forums
Second breakfast brigade

teehee i giggled
This is like the mandatory phrase that will come up 100% of the time whenever the Breakfast Club and this character are discussed by anybody.
We don't even mention or discuss this fact anymore. There's no point, since everyone always agrees that she looked hotter when she was "weird".
In fact, if is anywhere close to being accurate, then this was the creators' intent, too. It was just one of the many cues in this movie that is supposed to make you say "Hey wait a minute, I actually liked everyone more before they changed!" and get you to start realizing that the movie doesn't have a purely happy end, but a bittersweet one.
The Tea-time Troop
the ginger was better
Because John Hughes liked to get cucked by Chad. Ferris Bueller is basically the Chad and Stacy movie.
>tfw she was much qter as a weirdo, then became just another generic bitch
fuck you, 1980's
this desu
>implying this wasn't the intentional, underlying critique of Reagan-era capitalism.
>dark brooding cunt
>turns into a beautiful qt 3.14
nah fuck you dude, nobody likes shitty hot topic bitches. She made the right choice.
you're the kinda guy whose fetish is consensual sex in the missionary position
The only flaw with this movie is that Claire's role was clearly written with someone in mind who is actually hot rather than Molly Ringwald. In some other dimension there's a version of TBC where Hughes put Jennifer Connelly in it instead of Career Opportunities and it's perfect.
the united picnic
The Merienda League
That's simply not how women think.
I liked them, they disappeared though.
>chads get the cute girls
>loser nerd gets LITERALLY nothing but to cover the essay he has to write in tears
ACCURATE
MOVIE
the satiety society
This fucking overanalyzing.
This movie was made for normies so of course the qt becomes a normie in the end. If you've seen any other John Hughes high school movie you'll know the nerd almost never gets the girl (such as in Pretty in Pink).
The point of the movie is that deep down they all were similar beneath their "stereotypes" or "roles" within the school. Stop skewing it into some downbeat ending because you didn't like that message.
Kek
The Grub Hub
I just switch it off before the makeover scene.
Yep. This is why people love Hughes movies so much, because they explain the harsh reality of teenage social politics which your 'be yourself' childhood not only failed to prepare you for but actively lied to you about.
The Dinner Dandies
She wanted the jock like nerds want porn stars. The only difference is that girls can get jocks
the picnic clique
...
Nah the movie was more about people acting like assholes because those were the roles they felt were forced on them. Really most weren't like that deep down. Most of all Alice who was acting the way she did because it got her attention. She didn't even belong there. You can't really whine about conformity when they were all lying to themselves in the first place, especially the basketcase.
Way to come away with the exact opposite of what user said. They were being themselves, teenage social politics were what was forcing them to be the stereotypes but when they started being themselves they actually had a lot in common and were normal kids albeit with horrible parents.
>jock and bad boy go home with the girls
>nerd gets stuck doing everyone's homework
