She already has been tainted and the precedent has been set

is there anything more pathetic than a redditor who gets so butthurt about posters shitting on a meme show that he feels the need to defend the honor & quality of his favorite wacky adult swim sitcom against those mean fa/tv/irgins?

yeah you would know a lot about taints, wouldn't you user? haha

Except he had to use a date rape drug to do it...

>humor
>triggered

pathetic

That doesn't make it not a Reddit show.

Thats why we hate it.

Because Sup Forums are hipsters.

Reddit likes the show so Sup Forums has to hate it to be contrarian

if you wouldnt date rape a qt red head then you really dont belong here friendo.

I frequent this board and I love that show.

Yeah, you taking this shit board seriously

The show is just shit.

>Sup Forums said this was 'Reddit and Memey'
>wanted to know what they meant
>watched it
>enjoyed it
>still could see what they meant

Adult Futurama/Doctor Who is a neat idea, but there is lots of faults with it. I enjoy it, but if they don't change some shit in S3 it's beyond saving.

...

>people hate rick and morty
youtube.com/watch?v=BvK6KsLkPUs

Great show. Sup Forums being contrarian faggots as usual.

Seriously who the fuck cares about what Sup Forums has to say anyway. If you like something you shouldn't let the opinions of a bunch of fat retards affect you

>not falling prey to Reddit influence is a bad thing

Kill urself

Sup Forums reacted to Rick and Morty the same way they did Guardians of the Galaxy. They liked it at first, but after it's popularity blew up it suddenly become "Reddit" and shit.
I remember you fuckers listing GotG among your top movies that year, and I remember the Rock and Morty generals for when every episode aired.

...

If all your opinions are based solely on apposing whatever Reddit likes/dislikes, isn't letting Reddit influence you exactly what you're doing?

What the fuck are you even talking about Redditor? Why would I subject myself to something that is obviously crap?

Don't bother. These idiots, for some reason, can't accept the idea that some people genuinely don't like their terrible show. They comfort themselves by thinking that those people are just being contrarian (pretending not to like the show). Pretty sad.

If you genuinely dislike something because it's bad or not your cop of tea, that's fine. But it seems like a lot of Sup Forums hate shows or movies simply because they're popular and Reddit like them, that's retarded. You care too much what Reddit thinks. You're just as bad as the brainless sheep that confirm to the popular Reddit opinion just to fit in.

its easier to say something is "reddit" and "memey" instead of adding to a thread with valid criticisms. but thats just how Sup Forums is, shitposting and memeing have always been in charge.

I don't. I take their "OMG THIS IS SO SHIT BECAUSE OF LE MEMES" as a critism that won't stop me seeing it, but at least makes me aware of it.

I originally thought they were using 'Reddit' because it was Fedora tier atheism shit, but upon watching it there is maybe half a dozen atheist tier bullshit (that is, god doesn't exist mixed with nihilism). But there is some problems with it. The constant improvising in the soundbooth and having animation drawn to represent what people talked about is a neat idea if the VA is smart and is clearly making it up without expecting somebody to go "stop recording". The animation is poor. Designs are irritating. Rick was unbearable in the pilot and thankfully they dropped the "disgusting drunk grandpa" down a notch. There is no character growth and they reuse the same side-stories in every episode.

Yes, there is lots of faux-intellectual excuses you can use for that, but eh.

Seeing as Sup Forums is inherently counter-culture and Sup Forums stopped being "that board for pedophiles and footfags' (well it still is to an extent) it isn't beyond reason people are being contrarian just to get (You)'s. It happens to everything. Especially Marvel films. The more popular it is, the more Sup Forums seems to hate it. Don't worry, it isn't just Sup Forums.

>(that is, god doesn't exist mixed with nihilism)
I think Sup Forums look too deeply into this. Everyone assumes whatever Rick says is supposed to be interpreted as 100% factual truth, but he's been shown as being wrong on multiple occasions and can't always fix everything. They even had the Devil as a character at one point, so God could very well exist in the show.
Regardless, associating every form of atheism with Reddit is silly. You CAN be an atheist without being as fedora-tipper you know.

I like the side stories so far. I feel like it next season there should be some actual character development because the characters are facing in world consequences. If everything goes back to normal after a couple episodes then it will die out. But ill be interested to see where they take it.

I'm hanging around for that. I also want to know Ricks backstory.

>You CAN be an atheist without being as fedora-tipper you know.

Not on Sup Forums.

You really do need to get into the mindset of a Redditor normie to understand why this show is so popular.

These people have never heard of adult animation in their lifes that wasn't stuff like Family Guy, it was completely alien to them. And they can't laugh at these shows because they consider these shows stupid. They want a show that isn't necessarily smart or funny or well-written, but that appears to be to appeal to their surface-level taste. Because these people live for that mindless self-validation. They don't actually understand what makes for good writing or good comedy, nor have they ever picked a book about physics. They want to pretend they do so and circlejerk themselves, that's what matters.

Rick and Morty is just perfect for its demographic: these same college-age self-important Bernouts who "fucking love science". The entire foundation of the show is built upon the dichotomy between "silly sci-fi humor and references" and " things are super deep and tragic bro". This pseudo-intellectual "nothing even matters, I'm insecure about existence, we are all going to die" bullshit that R&M shits out in almost every episode is what appeals to it's audience. The show doesn't actually have the tact to even begin to offer an interesting presentation and discussion of any philosophy, so it spouts these edgy teenage catchphrases.

Nevermind the bean-headed, noodle-limbed unexpressive character design, or how the story is non-existent and only comes up when the writers beg you to feel something for these characters so devoid of substance, or how the entire show is a trendy forgettable scenario of the week memefest with just enough sci-fi references to trick normies into thinking they are smart for understanding them, or how the characters have somehow been reduced to even more obnoxious caricatures than before, none of these things matter.

What matters is that it appeals to the millenial redditor audience, and that's what's selling Rick and Morty.

Rick and Morty is a decent show, i just can't get over the stupid shit like the "get shwifty" song. Also hamfisted emotional moments don't help the show

I think you are looking a bit too far into it here. I like it because it makes me laugh and I can play it in the background without missing out on too much. If that makes me a crayon eating moron thats fair enough, but im enjoying myself. I just doubt im the only person who feels this way.

Kys

get shwifty is easily the worst. I also think im in the minority because I really hate the episodes where they watch intergalactic television. They just seem bland I guess.

Can't get any more reddit than this

Deadpool is still more Reddit.

I fucking love raping sluts. Dubs confirm I raped your mom.

off by one skrub, my mom remains unfucked by you. Which is bad luck because she has banged quite literally ever other person.

Well, I only recently marathoned this show and I enjoyed it for the most part. Agree with another poster, some of the curveball "random" humour like the get shwifty thing or whatever else sometimes feels forced and falls flat.

Though, some of that humour like the catchphrase thing or fourth wall breaking is forced but sometimes actually works, making fun of sitcom conventions etc

Oh, and another thing, that ep where Morty felt awkward around his sister after that Inception thingy, wish they'd explore that more often considering they delve into Morty's being a hormonal teenage boy quite regularly.

It's pasta. I know because I edited a few to troll GoT and WW generals. They fall for it a lot.

When has your mum come to Oxford? If she banged me, then I'm not a virgin any more. Handjobs from sister don't count, unfortunately.

The show isn't bad, it just isn't groundbreaking. Interdimensional Cabal 2 is the worst episode out of both seasons and a perfect example of why improv in soundbooth and then drawing animations for it (or it might simply be 'out takes' they recorded by accident or on purpose or whatever) doesn't work.

There is very little internal consistency either. Some of the enjoyment I got out of the show was all the background shit. Like on the Feminist Planet, there is a Strip Club, but it's advertising Cuddles, not dances.

you were asleep when she fucked you. she has no shame.

It's like the BvS pasta all over again.
Sup Forums doesn't dissapoint, and being contrarian to whatever is liked in reddit really gives birth to the best of pastas.

But morty's grandpa is a literal cuck. Like, literal use of the word cuckold

You know what I call these?

...

for you?

Plus, a lot of the jokes in the show are how Rick himself will often break down and start praying the second he realizes he's actually in danger, then swap back when things go back to normal
If anything, it's a crack at fedora atheism

I like the show, but I despise the fambase, especially people like you.

>get told by a handful of different people that I'd definitely like it
>season 1 was good
>season 2 was okay and seemed aware that it was wearing thin
Season 3 will definitely be a big change-up

Still waiting for an episode where rick and morty go to a universe where incest is the norm and they proceed to fuck the shit out of Beth and summer

I'm not the only one waiting for this right?

im with you user. we can dream

>literally saves pasta to post whenever this show gets posted about
>it's terrible pasta
There are things way more reddit than this show. I think it mainly gets hated on because most people like it. Therefore it's bad.

>it's a rick and morty steals from the venture bros. episode

Season 3 better be a big change-up.

Fixed for you. I heard the creator is crazy retarded and will rather stick to the same old same old and then try and pass it off as 'ironic satire of the zeitgeist' when he's just being a boring lazy prick.

>a lot of the jokes in the show are how Rick himself will often break down and start praying the second he realizes he's actually in danger
>single joke from single episode
>describing it like a running gag

to be fair thats been the only time he has really been in a situation out of his control and should have "died". If I remember correctly he gave up his means to escape to save someone else.

>getting this triggered by a bait thread
lmao

>I watched like one episode and am drawing conclusions on the other 20+ from it

Dan Harmon is a huge fucking faggot. Roiland is pretty good, honestly they should have just stuck with the pilot characterizations which are straight what Roiland does. All the changes and retarded bullshit are Harmon being a faggot and pushing his shitty life into the show and on to the rest of us like he always does

all by me
i come from the donald btw

The Sarah Palin alien was way hotter and needs way more porn

I wasn't going on Sup Forums very often around the time I saw GotG and really knew nothing about it going in. I thought it was awful annoying garbage and the only slightly amusing parts were with John C Reilly who only had maybe 3 minutes of screen time.

Rick and Morty was ok though

...

I was really stunned how annoying GotG was. I only watched it on a whim, never cared about the hype either way, but I couldn't make it past 30 minutes. It's like the film version of the kid in school who tried so hard to be the class clown but nobody laughed

Can you imagine if Reddit hated it? Sup Forums would be bananas about it.

It's exactly like that kid, except for some reason everyone is laughing and I can't for the life of me understand what the joke is.
