no dad, i don't want to. i did the dishes and homework, and fed the dog.

Pink Floyd in general has terrible psuedo-intellectual middlebrow lyrics. Massive flaw.

Anything by This Heat
cLOUDDEAD - S/T

You're not wrong, but they undeniably have a great sound so I still listen to them even if the lyrics are basic antifa bs

>le dirty commies >:-(
Those lyrics are anti-capitalist but that doesn't make them communist by default.

>I like getting fucked over by rich people

>Anti-Capitalist
That's facetious, the only people who relate with that message are dirty commies or retards who don't know the difference between Capitalism and Corporatism

i'm sure anyone who was in their boots at that time would have wrote about the same thing

>the difference between Capitalism and Corporatism

It sounds like you're either splitting hairs or memeing.

Still doing it today

Why would you care that much? Musicians aren't politicians and therefore are unable to affect policies. Any sensible person would admit that they're not in agreement with a band on a particular position and be done with it. Many RIO (rock in opposition) bands have socialist views as well. That doesn't make their music any less inventive or enjoyable.

I don't care, and I'm not trying to be a condescending jerk, but it's naive to think only politicians affect politics. Roger Waters' anti-Israel campaign has had a measurable effect on their economy and how people on our level perceive Israeli injustices. Whether or not you agree with Roger, because that's not relevant for what I'm saying.

They aren't politicians but they do control the mainstream social opinion of young and impressionable kids and when all music has a lefty theme it becomes a problem

I've seen tens of threads about musicians playing in Isreal as well. What is the problem here? Musicians play in Israel all the time.

>young and impressionable kids
Not what you would expect the audience for progressive rock and RIO bands to be. Also not the perceived audience for folk musicians. If in fact some are, I do not believe they would be that easily persuaded. On the other hand, musicians who target teenagers have a pleasant little attitude, but no concept. No one takes them seriously at all or not to any significant degree.

Or no content.

nearly all of pat the bunny's stuff

There are problems people like Waters and Eno have with Israeli policies, and generally how they treat people. So they refuse to play Israeli shows and urge others to do the same. And a lot of musicians have followed suit.

But other musicians like Thom Yorke and Nick Cave think it's punishing the wrong people, and believe that the government doesn't give a toss about Brits refusing to play in Israel.

It seems to be mostly a British thing for whatever reason.

Quick question: how many teenagers actively follow Roger Waters or Brian Eno? I think you're all way off base if you think Roger has ever in his career made his music for adolescents.

>implying it's something bad that music helps to spread socialist ideas to a new generation
Honestly you people can't stay stuck in your right-wing circlejerk forever

Has he ever directly talked about audiences of the band? I've also said:
>If in fact some are, I do not believe they would be that easily persuaded.
>On the other hand, musicians who target teenagers have a pleasant little attitude, but no concept. No one takes them seriously at all or not to any significant degree.
This could hardly be true for Pink Floyd.

Don't know about Brian Eno, but Pink Floyd is pretty huge among people in their late teens/early twenties i'd say

>caring about the lyrics
t.pleb who doesn't know shit about music

That's not really the same thing though. Most teenagers - even the pretentious and artsy ones - don't really seek to be preached to about war, fascism, capitalism, greed, aging, and mental insanity. It's true those lyrics connect with people of that age (I thought "Dogs" was lyrically amazing when I was 15, and still think it's solid) but that doesn't really mean Roger was targeting that age group.

>caring about the lyrics
Why not? You didn't provide an explanation.
>t.pleb who doesn't know shit about music
Pleb doesn't know shit... This reply was pointless really.

Sorry. I meant to quote your post as a good counter-example to the claim made that Roger caters to teens, but my post got a little mangled. I blame this shitty touch screen.
