Normies aka the main audience don't understand characters get are antagonists.
Especially those who loved Glenn.
Negan is a character who starts off with a power complex by killing two main characters of the show.
Then he goes on to break the main character and hold he fan favorite Daryl hostage.
Everything everyone loved is fucked and it's all cuz of Negan.
So as a result people hate Negan and can't stand him or lost interest to watching the show.
When you look at it though, Negan has only killed 2 people of Rick's crew despite how many Rick killed of Negan's.
Negan let them live albeit working for him now.
Personally I can understand his perspective yet the main audience hate him for what he has already done.
