Hell or High Water

I really enjoyed this movie but

no way in hell he get's away with it in real life for many reasons

inb4 it's just a movie

yeah i really liked it, i think beside BvS is the best i watched this year, hope its get recognition

Why not? Curious to hear these reasons.

feds would have been all over the brother

they pay off midlands bank what they owe just happens to be the same day his brother robbed 4 midlands banks...

also the waitress would have gotten obstruction of justice

Just a shit version of No Country For Old Men.

Not to mention the entire idea of them doing it in the first place pivots on that investment consultant from the bank heliping them put.
>Why are you helping us?
>Because Texas
>Yeeehaw brother!

No Country relies on meme characters to be good.

Lawyer

Talking shit.

>Why?
>They state in the movie that the bank doesnt give a fuck (wich they really would not) where they get the money. They have to accept it. And they definetly not going to be helping anyone to steal it from them.
>And maybe she did. The scene pointed that she would not give up the money until court order. This story was not about the waitress fighting to keep his money tho.

He was a lawyer? I thought he actually worked for the bank. Yeeehaw!

I'm saying the FBI would not have a hard time pinning down the brother. They made the ending rather convenient... as if it was only Jeff Bridges on this federal bank robbery case and it was case closed since he retired. bullshit. The feds would have him in a room until he confessed to stealing the money

>they pay off midlands bank what they owe just happens to be the same day his brother robbed 4 midlands banks
You need to prove it. But the FBI can do that simply with CCTV in the casino.
>also the waitress would have gotten obstruction of justice
How ? I don't remember that part.

They say at the very beginning that the FBI don't want the case.

she "didn't recognise him"

again the feds would have had her in a room until she made a positive ID of the brother, since he gave her 200 and flirted with him, she's clearly knows who he is

spotted the pleb

>le self-deprecation meme

that's a rather convenient plot hole isn't it

meh, thats pretty weak, nothing forces her to tell the trush.
Again IRL i think that CCTV in casino would be the most important issue for these guys.

am i missing something here ? it had some good acting, it was pretty well put together visually but shit... what an uninteresting story arch and characters.

was there any sort of character development at all ?

Maybe the FBI only take high-value cases, and by only stealing small amounts and loose bills, Toby avoided bringing them down.

so Sup Forums, what don't you want ?

green beans or corn on the cob ?

that was the best part of the movie

not after people got killed including that texas ranger beaner indian

in real life captain kirk would get the chair

>Dodgy films like this and Sicario are Sup Forums's idea of a quality movie.

...

they explain why he cant be touched at the end, mainly due to some sort of investments or money he had in the bank, they wouldnt be allowed to get a case against him
also the clean record, oil income etc. watch the movie faggot

>no way in hell he get's away with it in real life for many reasons
People get away with it all the time.

this is now a T-Bone thread

...

...

i did watch the movie and the explain it away pretty easily... he would have got caught especially with the casino cameras

This movie captures modern life of white trash, rural Texas so fucking well. it's really unbelievable

The scene with the green mustang in the middle of nowhere was perfect

Nobody was coming after them, Feds were not involved because they only stole a low amount/ only took from registers, they go over all of this in the movie man

they are responsible for 4 deaths and they just brush that over at the end too.

they would have no doubt looked to see if they won the money in the casino or not

Casino will tell feds to fuck off.

I liked it too, I just thought the older brother was shown to be a little bit unrealistically proficient with the heist, bank robbery and shootouts. The stand he makes at the end is complete bs, specially the whole 'send the car down on fire' thing.

Other than that it was a solid flick, nothing too special tho. Best moment was Bridges reaction to his partners death.

pretty good.

kinda seems like what some NYC jew would write about texas.
like its some bad impersonation.

other than that I really liked it.

>would have been 10x better if JOHN HILLCOAT directed it
wiki him faggots, he's the goat director

why are you so sure you know how the FBI works?

>JOHN HILLCOAT
wtf don't google that there is a fucking fbi warning

>john hillcoat
>good

he's a nihilist without any sense of cinematic style or flare
