I've only watched two episodes of this show and I feel fucking exhausted.

This shit makes me so uncomfortable. How much worse does it get? Should I keep going?

Take a day between each one

this tee bee aych

I think the first two episodes in S1 are the most mentally taxing though.

Reddit

Dude in the second episode got cucked so hard I actually felt bad

You are a fat crying nerd

Refresh yourself with the season 3 episode San Junipero, it's about attractive lesbians and "feels", the ending is happy I promise.

>tfw that pedo episode hit a bit too close to home

This is not for marathoning.

I've heard other people say the ending is happy but I don't see it that way, I find it terrifying

I laughed so hard when she picked fucking random dudes over going back to riding a bike. The guy deserved what he got with his stupidity

Fuck off, faggot.

I fucking loved the second episode. That slow but steady world building that was actually used to its full potential at the end.

It felt like when a puzzle clicks together.

S2E2 was top tier too, since I love this theme.

Why? They are living an idyllic existence of love, epicureanism and luxury. Eventually they may fall out of love, or get bored and jaded and end up engaging in bizarre acts at the Quagmire, but it's better than death, and if they feel otherwise they can remove themselves from the simulation

What's your problem, buster?

The ads that she was in after made my penis cry

4 was ok, 6 was solid.
All the other ones are unwatchable dogshit and if you disagree you are reddit incarnate.

wow everyone in this thread is horrific.
wah wah please dont ask me to think wah i lub my marvels

seriously guys dont ever watch 1984 or Fahrenheit 451 you may lobotomize yourselves and accidentally do the world a favour

the episode was about selling out, and the pressure to sell out imposed by sell out who cant face themselves

Really? Thank God
I've only watched season 1
And well after fifteen million merits I just felt like shit.
But I really enjoyed episode 3 and didn't feel so dead inside after. So the rest are alot more like that then the first two?

Shitty fucking bait.
What's your opinion of Brazil (1985)?

All dystopian media types have effects on people, some more than others. For me personally I don't find 1984 to be as disturbing as the world depicted in some episodes of black mirror.
Idk why but the scariest part of the 2nd episode to me was the lack of human contact. For the first 20 minutes Bing barely even grunts at anyone. And all the abuse thrown at those lemon people. That's more terrifying than any oppressive dictatorship.

Is it possible to just remove yourself from San Junipero? I mean from what I saw it seemed like a permanent choice

The best episode from the new season was the pedo one, shut up and dance
All the others aren't even close to the same level as these

>Is it possible to just remove yourself from San Junipero?

During her argument with Kelly, Yorkie actually stated "it's not a trap" and that you can remove yourself at any time.

>What's your opinion of Brazil (1985)
monty python version of 1984 without the funny

ever though that big brother is actually the only way for a modern society to function? that all the stuff Richard Burton says is .. if not true at leased the easiest why for large populaces to avoid descending into anarchy? that maybe the horrors displayed where acceptable in order to have some inner party members progressing humanity?

I don't know man.
I just finishes s02e01 a couple hours ago.
It still hit me like a fucking brick and left me uncomfortable as hell.
But yeah, s1e2 was the greatest and the one that gave me the worse eerie sensation so far.
I really love it.

it was also stated that most 'guests' just degenerated into soulless shells searching for any kind of feeling ... just dead inside

>I googled the director and read the first line of the plot
Get the fuck out

congrats on being a pleb

the elites face stretching thing was ok ... Bob Hoskins reprising his mario brothers plumber thing was retarded ... the shit with get the form signed a millions times was lame .... cant remember much else about it, its been years since i watched it once and disliked it

how bout using your brai .... owwww your one of those ... flash and walking dead are awesome right brah....

>it was also stated that most 'guests' just degenerated into soulless shells searching for any kind of feeling ... just dead inside

They aren't "dead inside" due some effect of the simulation, as I said in my original post they become jaded and bored of hedonistic pleasure and seek new and taboo thrills at places like the Quagmire. The same malaise effects real-life hedonists.

Yorkie and Kelly are genuinely in love, which hopefully will stave off ennui. If it doesn't, well that's human existence.

sure but i would say the "you can leave when you want" is a bit of a trap. like a frog in a pot of slowly boiling water can hop out at any time, kind of thing thats why the black girl just wanted to die naturally, but her love for coma girl forced her to go against her own feelings and risk being the frog ... i thought that made the story stronger, and gave the black character more depth

I agree with your argument.

Kill yourself you memeing fuck.

Just watch episode 2 from season 3 it's a very happy episode

Love is a fallacy. After a few aeon they'll be licking rubber boots and being spat on down the Quag from gimp-suited freshers.

>coma girl
She was actually quadriplejic, which is way worse.

I'm really glad you weren't in a fucking focus group. s01e02 was not about "selling out", it was about rebellion, and how it gets coopted as soon as it lets off the pedal. It was about sisyphean challenges and finding alternative means to accomplish another goal than rolling the boulder. It was about totalitarian culture development, fear based economy, the essence of futility and how when you do reach the spotlight, you're noting but a puppet after all, dancing to strings unseen but held by somebody who, no matter how many levels you think you've outsmarted, will always be one level higher than you.

Fucking basic.

>you're noting but a puppet after all

What's your opinion on S3? I like that there are more episodes, but only half of them were any good so we basically got as much as the older seasons.

Shut Up and Dance is already one of my favorites. The rest of the season's pretty fun, too.

>Unironically "exhausted" after watching a tv show

Get ready to fall in love OP

not with teeth like those

>Lady Sybil as a porn star

>picking attitude cop over sarcastic cop

>Typos invalidate statements.

Nice.

Compared to S1/S2 I agree the episodes might not have been as profound as a whole, but I still think E2 was creepy as fuck (predictable in a sense, but still got me) and the twist in E3 was well played. I like how the characters repeated the final conclusion but it seemed misguided at the time

I liked E1 as a view into trends pulled too far and loved the trailer lady. The rest were alright as far as TV goes, but didn't feel as "heavy" as the previous seasons' episodes did. E5 was creepy and I loved Kelly's role as the psych and accomplice

Well, that's rude.

if you dont know what a meme is you shouldnt be using the word ... now go annoy you mother

>It was about sisyphean challenges and finding alternative means to accomplish another goal than rolling the boulder.

huh thats why at the end the black guy was drinking oj while his love was being ridden like a rodeo bull live on national tv every night ???.... it was about selling out .. if hed killed himself live on stage your point would be valid, but he didnt he sold out and became as bad as the xfactor judges or the ones fucking the love of his life ... also i wondered weather the black thumb in her mouth was his but who knows

It's meant to make you feel uncomfortable, that is totally intended.

OJ was obviously spiked, she was drugged into "choosing" porn, viewing it as her only option at the time. He sold out only in the sense of ever trusting a powerful (controlled) person in a corner.

I envy how simple you view things.

>I envy how simple you view things
displacement much?
he had the choice, he chose getting his own show. he wasnt drugged then was he?

the only person who didnt sell out, who didnt alter themselves for the system was the cleaner. not so simple is it?

He didn't "choose having his own show". He chose what he thought would be a chance to change the system from within. Ultimately an obviously futile endeavour to our eyes, seeing the system not as "the whole world" but as a horrible hamster cage.
An argument could be made for how he was selfish in that moment for not killing himself knowing what he knew. In the end he had no real choice, any more than a normal person views they have a choice to throw themselves off a building to escape slavery, unless already in extreme circumstances.
He had a cathartic blowout there on the stage, opening his inner self to all the viewers (eventually becoming his "fanbase" when it was viewed as a useful derailment of his intentions to broadcast his rant). It's hard to see more than those two options, save killing the judges, of course.

The cleaner had no choice, he was unable to produce at the rate expected of him and shuffled to the pariah caste of the system. If you view him as somehow "purer" for being unable to be sucked in, you reveal your own hypocrisy.
I have many objections to the system shown in that episode, but I disagree with your view. If you could choose abject misery over a chance to escape it, only very few (in a reflected, "enlightened" society) would choose misery, and yet many of those would do so out of fear of the unknown, rather than a sense of "obligation".
His rebellion was doomed before it began, but he escaped, in the way one escapes society by being committed for life to a mental ward.

So yes, simple.

You are pretty pathetic, honestly.

>mfw after watching shut up and dance episode

And you've never been faced with a real dilemma larger than "DO I want fries with that?"

They gave the contestants a drug to do what they're told in the juice before going on the stage. You guys seriously missed all that?

He brought her empty carton when he went on stage though, so he wasn't technically drugged on anything but emotion (which in that "economy" was already commodified by highly manipulative media)

you assume the cleaner just didnt peddle hard enough ... what what if it was that he peddled harder than anyone else but spent those credits blocking that obnoxious shit that was pumped into the rooms. Remember how the add called the black guy a "regular user"?? remember the cowell judge convincing black guy "im just like you" ... remember how he had a fake penguin made and looked longfully at it (didnt seem drugged then) it would seem you are forcing your own view of things into the medium, which is fine but you are also ignoring what was actually on screen, which is not. ie i think the fat guy who kept laughing and the gunk show was laughing more from fear and belief, but you who say it was just conditioning

Honestly only four or five episodes are worth recommending. And the first two aren't. Normie faggot pls go

I guess you pass.
I'm just here to shitpost, BM is painfully terrible, I agree.

Yellow guy had health problems and it was literally spoken something along the lines of "won't be long until he's in yellow" in the beginning. Step it up son.
Cowell judge manipulated him, sure, but unless you've never actually been manipulated by somebody skilled (or know how to counter it, which takes years of training normally) that won't make sense to you. He had the penguin made to soothe him and make further rebellion less likely. They see all, know all. They know exactly which buttons to press. They also know not to poke a bear, so they sequester him to isolation and give the current problem a release.

ALL the ascended were drugged. Drugs are generally addictive, and it's known that they receive them before "performing", probably to make further dosing less awkward.
I don't say it was "just conditioning" anywhere, I said the media were emotionally exploitative. Which mass media tend to be. The "fat guy" (I assume you mean the asshat) was literally the "perfect citizen" trope in the episode. He upholds both spoken and unspoken dogma through his actions and words.

Honestly, give it a rest. You just don't get it.

No no. Not the black guy. He sold out because he realized he was gonna lose anyways. White girl was drugged

aww its not that bad .. better than twilight zone > outer limits > metal hurlant

at leased it expects it viewers to think a bit

Cucking is a central theme in this show. WTF is Booker's obsession with cuckoldry?

No argument there. Her judgement was obviously impaired. She showed a clear difference from the rest of the visible citizens in that she had found solace in something looking like zen (making beauty that will be destroyed). I think that's what drew the black guy to her in the second place, after hearing her sing. (which in itself is well done in a place where everything you hear and see is taken for product, not culture).

Now: was the scene he saw from his window a screen or an actual window?

Overrated as fuck... Well made but entirely overrated. The drama and tension is forced down your throat so hard it's absurd. Most of the stories are convoluted instead of complex and are lazily based upon pop culture bullshit.

kino/10

>white

>Yellow guy had health problems
yellow was the colour of the uniform, scared fat guy said that to make fun of him ... like i said
>He had the penguin made to soothe him and make further rebellion less likely
he did? while he was drugged? so is he rebelling, or do you agree he consciously sold out ie not fighting for his love anymore, content not riding and just chatting shit for the masses, JUST LIKE THE COWELL GUY

>You just don't get it.
it would seem i 'get it' more than you ... there was no out only levels of slavery, the black guy understood this, being knifeguy is better than death, the girl understood this. porn is better than the bike, bike guy got it, riding is better than picking up shit. etc etc etc

seriously dude watch whats on the sceen, dont just going making shit up to make yourself feel better

I have no words, I'm amazed you're able to piece together sentences at all.

You're fucking retarded.

suck my dick, cuck

and you would rather have EVERYONE IS DRUGGED ITS NOT THEIR FAULT purely because you dont like the message that they all chose corruption because corruption comes with benefits
