You first OP

:3

Grew out of it at 34, and then started to get back into it about 5 years ago

does OP like Death Metal?

13, when I can actually comprehend the lyrics and the awful composition :)

15, then I went into a post-rock phase.

I dare you to name a single piece of music with better composition than this:

I was never into it.

13 but I still enjoy some stoner and doom metal

Are you me

Seeing how many people haven't recognised this meme makes me feel old.

kill me please

>when did you grow out of metal
>when did you grow out of rap
>when did you grow out of indie
What is some music you grow INTO?

Recognizing this meme makes me feel old.

Patrician.
Classical.

The vast majority of metal is talentless trash IMO, but how could you deny that this is a fucking masterpiece?

I have a pretentious friend who literally turns up the distortion on his guitar and then plays random notes thinking he's some kind of musical prodigy. That's what a lot of metal feels like to me. There are exceptions ofc. I never really got into it tho. Although I do listen to the occasional melodic death metal/atmospheric black metal track. I also quite like the dark aesthetics that come with those genres. The rest doesn't do much for me, just a bunch of angry socially retarded white dudes shredding their guitars for entertainment value

Have not grown out just branched out more.
Now its metal (most of the subgenres), Blues (especially Chicahgo Blues), Crust Punk/HC Punk/D-Beat.

Classical is what you listen to as a kid before listening to modern music

13, realized that metal kids are all losers so I got myself some Wu-Tang gear and started drinking 40's and freestyling like it was my job.

jazz

about 15 but I still like the doomy or classic stuff

You don't grow out of it, you grow into it as you become less naive.

Correct answer is 10 years after you grew out of rap.

Everyone I knew who "grew out of" metal were only liked it for surface elements in the first place.

Gutterz R Loud, Grrrrrrr mean

didnt grew out of it but i broaded my spectrum first to blues and psychedelic rock and wandered of to jazz somehow.

I just grew into metal at 20

noise

Grew out of being a metalhead at 15 but still like it

literally every nu-male is like this

noise is something you grow into in your edgiest manchild phase
then you grow out of it when you get a job

listening to Disturbed and Slipknot =/= being into metal
You literally never grew into it

Never really grow out of it even as adult, just as time goes I can differentiate what's good and what's bad

Easy listening pop rock, especially the ones who are actually hard to play and creative

~20

I still really like metal though and I'm 28
