I had a version of Total by SebastiAn that was slightly pitched up (I imagine to compensate for the compression or to defeat anti-piracy algorithms) that I listened to for years before getting a proper version, which sounds so wrong to me that I'd rather listen to the old shitty one.

Same, I've had a copy of Gorillaz S/T in .wma, ripped from a CD, for years. I was looking for a 320 replacement a few years ago and literally every one had been pitch shifted upwards. So I wonder how many people have listened to Clint Eastwood in the wrong key.
Soulseek does me fine though, never had any issues at all at finding stuff in 320 or FLAC.
