Why is this one of the best films I've ever seen, with maybe the best leading performance, and no one has even heard of it?

>puzzled because a period piece from korea isn't popular in the west
cmon mate

>just about to check it out
>thinking it's japanese
>says it's korean

Yeah I'll take a pass

yeah you've got me there. but really, this movie is godly.

>being this much of a weeb
take a pass on life

yeah it was good
did you watch The Admiral with Min-sik Choi in it?
I like the actor but i think this imdb.com/title/tt3008014/?ref_=tt_rec_tt has a more interesting premise, also has Kang-ho Song from memories of murder

fairly straightfoward flick, not much memorable about it

No, I am really not familiar with Korean films. Dump suggestions here, if their are any this good, I'll check it out

what genre do you want

any I have no preference, I'm just really burnt out on American films rn

yeah like said
what genre do you want?
history drama/ war, mafia action stuff, mystery murder thriller, horror or even comedy?

memories of murder
the chaser
a bittersweet life
castaway on the moon
my sassy girl

in nor particular order
-I Saw the Devil
-A Bittersweet Life
-J.S.A.: Joint Security Area
-The Host
-Memories of Murder
-Castawy on the moon
-Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance
-Lady vengeance
-Oldboy
-A dirty carnival
-Tale of 2 sisters
-The handmaiden
_The yellow sea

there are more but check out those first
try to switch from one genre to the others

Min-sik Choi is super overrated, much like his breakout performance in the super overrated Oldboy.

The Chaser sucks. Memories of Murder, A Bittersweet Life and Castaway On The Moon are excellent though.
These are also mostly very good recommendations

And I will add Breathless, it's really great.

And I also really liked I'm A Cyborg But That's OK, I've seen a lot of people dislike it but I thought it was really damn good.

Koreans make great movies. For some wierd reason.

>my sassy girl
Get the fuck out.

Nah, that's the japanese
Koreans make shit like Old Boy which is garbage

Is that the one with Rain? Heard about it but didn't watch it yet
I did watch 200 Pounds Beauty, pretty ok movie comment about the rampant plastic surgery in korea
there is another one comedy about a guy selling insurance or life insurance, i can't remember the name though

>Asians (by that I mean Japanese because the rest of Asia has always sucked) after the '70s
>making good movies
Pick one

Yeah, not that I know who that is. he was really good in it though, and the girl too.

Oh and I forgot to mention two must see korean movies: Oasis and Peppermint Candy.

Is the movie you're thinking about japanese? It could be Walking in Tokyo\Adrift in Tokyo.

nah, i watched Adrift in Tokyo b4
this one is more goofy comedy style about a dude trying to sell insurance to people
somebody from Sup Forums actually rec it, i even google it but forgot to write down the name

This was the better Joseon film

movie that need an american remake and then cast Brendan Fraser

How long were you waiting to make this shitpost?
