First for /rags/

Most US series like Indy and ARCA are on their off weekend due to the long Holiday weekend in the US and there's not much going on internationally so you aren't missing heaps anyway.

Second for Dale Jr. "mysteriously" missing his restrictor plate this weekend.

That or Jimme pushes him for the last 20 laps.

USA USA USA

If you have any different series or stories you would like to talk about or share please do! That's what this thread is all about.

Question of the day will the NXS be a wreck fest like the past two plate races?

The only DTM race worth watching is this weekend. The race on the Norisring
The former german chancellor Helmut Kohl died recently and his funeral is on Saturday. Because of this the schedule for Saturday was changed
>FP2: 0845
>Quali 1120
>Race 1325
Sunday's schedule is as planned
>FP3: 1110
>Quali 1400
>Race 1720

All times are in CEST

NASCAR Silly season is starting so here's some collected BS So far

>NASCAR is considering a full ban on cup drivers in Xfinity/Truck races as it's killing attendance, but is also trying to allow them to be involved be it broadcast or Crew Chief as the Pocono "driver take over" was a success and popped ratings. Either way even more severe cutbacks are coming for buschwacking.
>GMS is buying BK Racing's charter on the #23 and running a full time schedule. Spencer Gallagher won't be moving up yet and a Vet will run the first two seasons. GMS may also switch to Toyota.
>Blaney is moving to Penske running the #12 with Discount Tyre and Fitzgerald Gliders backing
>Bubba Wallace will take the #21 for the Wood Bros. Ford Motocraft to back him.
>Menard is dropping to Xfinity and moving to Penske to run the #22 full time
>Ty Dillion goes to the #27 which might become the #33

It's probably going to get stupider as we go through the summer too.

>>Blaney is moving to Penske running the #12 with Discount Tyre and Fitzgerald Gliders backing
>>Bubba Wallace will take the #21 for the Wood Bros. Ford Motocraft to back him.

And speaking of the burning building that is DTM, they have announced another fucking retarded rule change.
>Number of mechanics was limited to 64 per manufacturer for cost reducing reasons(each manufacturer has 6 teams)
>Teams have lots of stress because of this rule
>Stress increases even further because of the changed schedule for this weeks race
>So the organisation finally gave in and increased the number of mechanics
Sounds like a good change right? Except it might be the most useless rule change I've ever heard for 3 reasons

>Increased number of mechanics is only legal for this weeks race
>Each MANUFACTURER only gets 2 more mechanics, so nothing changes for atleast 4 of the 6 teams of each manufacturer
>The ONLY thing these mechanics are allowed to do is cool the brakes

This series needs to die ASAP

I'm okay with all/any of those

>This series needs to die ASAP
Seems more and more likely every day. Hear so many rumblings about the crumbling integrity of the series and participants.

Logano will ruin the race tonight and there's nothing you can do about it.

>DTM dies

>Replaced by TCR Germany

>that happens
>GT Masters comes to the Norisring to replace the DTM race

truly the best timeline

Xfinity qualifying about to happen

youtube.com/watch?v=2UwbLjJ_ilU

>that happens
>no Euro F3 there
> Instead ADAC Formula Crash
> ADAC Formula Crash destroys Nürnberg and Hitler's tribune
> tfw

fuck, you have a point

Jesus, that Bradon Jones crash from Feburary really did like Dale's

Go Mike Harmon!

>Green Flag with Safety Vehicle clearly in harms way

>Carl Edwards takes over the 88

Carl ain't coming back.

This came from a very credible source in Hendrick. You just watch.

>My Dad works for nintendo

What is Derrick Cope's endgame?

Carl's not coming back. Current bullshit on the 88 is that Jr wants Bowman because he believe Bowman has the talent, works great with Ives better than he does and it would be an easier transition with the huge fanbase to side with Bowman than someone new. The problem is that there's a sponsor issue. Nationwide and PepsiCo are siding with Dale and are ready to back him. Axalta doesn't want Bowman. They want someone else more experienced and marketable. That's why the Carl rumors are coming around because experienced and marketable is Carl and what Axalta wants. Final call will likely go down to the Captain and he'll probably use his Jew Magics to make Axalta hang on with Bowman till Byron is ready.

Now who goes to the 5 is more interesting cause it seems like they won't resign Kahne.

Kahne is getting resigned for some reason

>poole pole

Brendan Poole has taken the pole for the Xfinity race tonight at Daytona.

>3/4 JRM starting in top 10

I'm happy.

Only 2 are top ten

>Poole on Pole
Great ready for a big one 10 laps into the race

>Please Watch Our Sport Again

Cup quals bout to start on NBC Sports

Roll for qualifying fatal wreck

Will Jeffrey take the family torch dominate cup races starting next year?

DELET

It's Kenseth. Screencap this.

Kahne is gone since Greatclips and Farmers are both not resigning their deals and are probably leaving the sport entirely. Whoever goes to the 5 needs to bring sponsorship, or Hendrick will just shut it down and begin the great downsize for this new era of declining attendance and viewership.

All that "Bubba Wallace to the 21" stuff was posted by some Penske fanboy autist onRubbin's Racin' and of course someone on R/NASCAR submitted it as pure fact. It's not happening.

Why would Kenseth leave Gibbs though?

It'll probably be Jeffery Earnhardt.

Last 2 digits are how many cars McFlurry takes out when he starts the big one by driving like a retard

Reminder that Roush used to field 5, yes FIVE, cars

...

Kenseth can't even carry a stable sponsor right now. Rick isn't gonna bring him in as a rental. And Blaney is 100% out at Wood Bros after this season. Wood Bros want to carry young drivers and develop them on short contracts. It's "time" for Blaney to move on, to a 3rd team at Penske. Bubba to the 21 is the obvious move for what the Wood Bros want to be.

As far as the 88 Nationwide would love Bowman or a young star. Prob is young stars like Larson and Blaney are not leaving their ownership. So the only other young star that makes sense would be Byron, who is prolly a year away still.

So I think it'll be Bowman and then Byron will be in the 5 in 2019.

The entire field plus the pace car and several track safety vehicles

Nice
I cannot wait

What about bringing someone like Cassil or Yeley to the 88, maybe all they need is good equipment?

Jr and Chase are in their own zip code

You're a fool if you don't think the Hendrick cars will be allowed to get away with a bunch of shit this weekend because >muh dale

Yeley had it and failed

Yeley had a JGR ride. What did he do with it?

Any fucking race where Kasey goddamn Khane is qualifying in the top 5 is bullshit.

>fastest car so far that isn't a Hendrick machine is Danica

Kasey Kahne is an excellent driver though, just gets caught up in bad luck.

...

They were up to 6 at one point I think. That was the high water mark though it was all downhill after that. I never imagined with all the Ford support they used to get that they would ever be down to 2 but here we are

At the Glen atm, anyone else here?

Joey with the banter

>you now remember Rutledge Wood is back

It'd be a shame if the 88's plate was machined a bit over tolerance wouldn't it

Lightning in track vicinity andchance of rain before Xfinity starts. Will probably be a late race start. Fucking Florida weather.

FUCK KYLE PETTY AND RUTLEDGE WOOD REEEEEEE

If anyone is interested, the Goodwood Festival is this weekend. This morning when I tuned in there were some pre-WWII, NASCAR, 80s IMSA, Group B/C, Le Mans, and a couple of Indy/CART cars running.

I would like to see this happen. You know Tits isn't ready.
>Blaney to 12, Bubba to 21
Yes, please
>Menard is dropping to Xfinity and moving to Penske to run the #22 full time
Nope. MuhNards could leave RCR but he stays in the cup series. He is the sponsor baby Roush desperately needs.
