Canon edition
/trek/
Old thread:
> parents owned first edition
> used to read it as a little kid
> any chance of growing up normie all gone
kino
>dad had it growing up
>sold it before I was born
>got a pristine copy at a convention for $10
feels good man
I have that book. Pretty great for the mid-70s, pre-TMP revival
as a kid I actually thought you could build a tricorder with those diagrams
also who /judgement rites/ here? best Trek game easily
First-gen fandom is interesting to me. It's fun to see how the fans expressed themselves and got their information before the franchise was revived and a single cannon was formed.
Have you ever read 80s usenet or Trek-related BBS t-files?
No but that sounds cool.
It's okay, we're still friends.
>fans in the 70s: "Can Kirk and Spock make love?"
>Gene Roddenberry: "Yeah, sure, it's a T'hy'la thing."
>fans in the 90s: "Can Garak and Bashir make love?"
>Rick Berman: "ALL YOU FAGS GONNA BURN IN HELL!"
Earnestly: isn't there a real argument to be made for Rick Berman being the true author of "Star Trek" as it's known today?
Only if you're a pleb who doesn't know about Michael Piller.
Read some behind-the-scenes books. All good ideas can be traced back to Michael Piller, and all bad ideas can be traced back to Rick Berman.
still in its clear vinyl snap case?
Why should I have to read books when I'm in a trekthread where experts are dying to redpill me with their important information?
I dare you not to spill the absolute facts about Michael Piller in concise fashion ITT
These 3 men saved Star Trek from Roddenberry and Berman's clutches.
>as a kid I actually thought you could build a tricorder with those diagrams
You could, they were walkie-talkie schematics. Notice the fine print that says (paraphrasing here) "per Prime Directive, these are equivalents to the actual technology"
No, but it was very well-preserved. No wear or tear at all.

What the fuck, is this some shady knockoff that's gonna give me a virus?

This thread is now /ezri/. All posts from here forward will respect that Ezri is the best Dax and that Jadzia was a stupid fucked whore.
>that pic
That was a comfy episode
>Oh, I'm sure you would. You'd like nothing more than to pry into my personal affairs. Well, I'm not interested in dissecting my childhood. I only want to save my people from the Dominion. I don't need someone to walk in here and hold my hand. I want someone to help me get back to work. And you, my dear, aren't up to this task. I mean, look at you. You're pathetic. A confused child trying to live up to a legacy left by her predecessors. You're not worthy of the name Dax. I knew Jadzia. She was vital, alive. She owned herself. And you? You don't even know who you are. How dare you presume to help me? You can't even help yourself. Now get out of here before I say something unkind.
Oh, yeah? Well at least Bashir actually wants to fuck me, you ugly foreveralone incel.
u r gay
You fucked a space negro then died. I fucked a genetic God and have lived. Your move.
The Roddenberry booth I went to at my convention was selling facsimiles of a 1977 Trek fanzine. I'll post some pages you.
...
And the pre-internet version of /trek/
>Captain Ezri
I can understand preferring her as your waifu, but pretending that she's command material is a step too far.
>1977 already wanted us to make memes
War. War never changes.
>names and addresses of underage children
Forgot to add that this was magazine edited by Gene's secretary.
>9 lifetimes of knowledge and experience
>Not fit to command a ship
Get off my bridge.
>Scotty's Tech Manual claims Enterprise was constructed in the 2200's and made its maiden voyage around 2218
This shit was fucking unreal. By the way, anyone here made any interior schematics for the Andy Probert Ambassador Class ship?
Not good enough. By that logic, we should have had Captain Jadzia too.
Psychology was Ezri's passion, not command. And her personality wasn't suited for command either.
I could never get into Star Trek just because of the reason it was a bunch of officers abandoning their crew.
They weren't men and women of honor, every episode they would sacrifice regular people from the ship so they could justify their little clique.
Ezri had compassion, Jadzia was a whore. Think of it like Kirk compared to Picard. Picard was better by all accounts.
>ywn fall in love with a qt 70s trek fan
>doesn't see the superiority of Kirk
>thinks anybody can be promoted straight to captain
I see that you fell for the JJ meme.
Push off. Jadzia is old and busted.
ezri looks like a boy
there
I said it
A cute boy that I would fuck.
>Kirk is such a dumb fratboy lol! Picard is better in every way xd!
>anybody can be promoted straight to captain, even a lieutenant with no command training or experience!
You poor, poor, misguided JJshit.
>/trek/
well it's official. Sup Forums star trek threads have been taken over by some 40 year old faggot who got banned on reddit
they're not funny any more
fucking kill yourself op
Who hurt you?
Whores can have compassion. Many whores are that way because of their compassion
Who was in the wrong here?
I posted on usenet groups back in the 90s. In addition to downloading 256 color bmp porn, I would shitpost on ST groups such as alt.wesley.crusher.die.die.die

>tfw you realise Worf's son is a white kid in black face
So is martok.
"berman's clutches" is the only reason it didn't go full SJW already..
