>We need someone to do the campy villain but we don't want to spend any money.
>He's outside sir.

Do you think he even remembers that he was the Master?

You know you've made some poor career moves when the Master is one of your more dignified roles.

Read a little of Ainley's biography, and it said he wasn't pissed off at all at not being asked to come back for the TV movie. He thought watching it was 'classy'.

what is /who/ watching?

>Time Flight (don't worry I'm drunk)

sorry boys, but the next doctor NEEDS to be a WOMAN!

babylon 5

shut up, phil. go back to bitching about vox day

I LOVE THE TV MOVIE
The tv movie is perfect
>best Doctor
>best companion
>best Tardis
>best opening theme
I dare you to find one flaw apart from the obvious "The Doctor is half human!"

The plot is pretty much nonsense

Am I the only person in existence that thought Eric Roberts as the Master was pretty GOAT?

he even drezzzed for the occasion

>the Master's face is larger than the Doctor's
What did they mean by this?

idk if this is bait but 8 is pretty much written as generic Doctor for most of the film, he has a couple of good scenes with Grace (the one where he first meets her and the shoes one) but other than that he's pretty bland. Grace constantly flip flops on how much she trusts the Doctor, giving her no real character arc. The TARDIS console room is cool but it triggers me that its analog interface uses the Gregorian calendar and it's full of clocks because DUDE TIME LMAO. The dialogue is corny as fuck ("I finally meet the right guy and he turns out to be an alien!") and everything is such a '90s cliche it's like an overpowering smell that just permeates the whole thing. Plus muh half human.

I don't get the hate for Time-Flight. It reminds me of an average Pertwee era story, something like The Mutants or The Claws of Axos. Low on plot logic but some cool ideas and visuals that make it worth watching.

Actually I agree, Eric Roberts was the most enjoyable thing in the movie.

those lips though

>What did they mean by this?
They probably meant that Eric Roberts was a bigger star than Paul McSeven

What are you listening to /who/?

WAKE UP

I want to fug eight.

Lads I actually have a feeling Nardole will be based.

I literally think he'll be great and already seems to have great chemistry with Capaldman

David Decoteau did nothing wrong
he just wants to make family films in a porn house

Nardole will be like Twelve's little brother. Twelve will be fondly protective of him, but still think he's an annoying little fuck.

We go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on

I'll watch Dr.Who again when they get rid of Capaldi. He's ruining everything.

I disagree

You disagree that I'll watch again?

I disagree that he's ruining everything

That's why you're wrong.

I disagree

I agree with myself and disagree with you.

I don't

You do now.

It's been one year since Hell Bent. I rewatched it and I think it's a much better episode than this board says. I think having Clara pointing out how unfair it is for the Doctor to forcibly remove her memories, and having him instead forget her, is a much more interesting ending for her than just dying.

The episode is better than people give it credit for. It wasoriginally discarded because people got blindingly upset about the 'clara gets her own tardis' part. I still don't believe that was a good decision (especially since Raven had her coming to terms with and accepting her death as a fuckup she can't undo) but there are lots of good character moments in HS

>It's been one year since Hell Bent.

Raven still happens to her, she still accepts all of those things. That's what people forget when they watch Hell Bent, they assume Clara just goes off and has adventures forever and does'nt think about going back, but she eventually does. It's still a shitty end for her because you know something happens that convinces her that the inevitable must occur. It's not a happy ending at all no matter how the fangirls for her spin it.

Remember user, the point clara was yanked out from was when the raven hits her
ie after she had accepted everything
meaning that she goes back on her word as soon as it happens
There's no reason to assume she went back willingly either

>The Weeping Angels

She can just 'upload her consciousness' into an appropriate medium and then let her body die as required.
Or alter reality with the key to time.
Or destroy the universe by blowing up her tardis and then rebooting reality by .... remembering ..... whatever the fuck happened.

RETURNING

twitter.com/GirlyLetters/status/805724474473594880

why do you link girly when she's just retweeting someone else? She blocked me so I can't see these without opening up private mode

also did he fucking seriously stalk out the airport to 'run into' actors arriving for doctor who

What have I been waiting for?
Been wasting all my time
Watching Class more than once
Surely is a crime

You're asking me to spoonfeed you now cats?

yes pls

...

That doesn't really make any sense. We all know that we're going to die eventually, that doesn't make our 80-ish years of living shit or sad though. The only difference with Clala is that she gets to live for literally thousands of years instead and has her own time machine before she faces her death.

Where's the tragedy?

>Where's the tragedy?
Exactly. There is none.

They could have had some real courage and made her extraction a process limited to a few minutes and then had emotional scene of the Doctor saying goodbye to the already dead Clara.

But they pissed it all away on a the whim of giving this ordinary human female a TARDIS and extended lifespan.

See: Mary Sue definition

So was he pissed off or not? If he thought it was classy surely that means he wished he was in it?

>doctor and clara part ways having lied to one another about being okay
>doctor visits an old clara, pottery with clara visiting old 11
>clara fucks up and accepts her death as a consequence
3 fucking great exit points and moff went with 'clara is saved, turns immortal and gets her own tardis'

All I can read in that post is REEEEEEEEEEEE

It does'nt matter how many lives of happiness you live afterwards...sometimes all it takes is one bad day to make you feel like it's all not been worth it. We don't know if Clara going to her fate is because she feels she's lived a full life or because she feels she's lived too long and seen tragedies pile up.

might want to try reading it a little closer

bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-38199728

Our PM will be watching DW.

there is literally nothing wrong with the Doctor being half-human

...

>no one cares about his attention whoring

how much do you think the BBC paid for this?

So besides her and the Queen, how many rulers in England actually watch the show?

What are you talking about? The last we see of Clala is her grinning and explicitly implying that she's going to spend a few thousand years flying around in her own timemachine seeing the universe, she wasn't "going to her fate".

You're not listening. That's fine, plebs never do

>vocabulary and MO shows he's arguing with himself again

>it's impossible for two people on Sup Forums to talk the same

no he was picking someone up

>also did he fucking seriously stalk out the airport to 'run into' actors arriving for doctor who

No, it was just coincidence. He says in another tweet that he was at the airport picking his mum up.

you can never be too sure with these dwsr types

who here /stillhasntfinishedreadingshittrips/?

/whywouldanyonewanttoreadthatuttershite/

wait we're meant to read that?
I just glanced through it and had a giggle at the fact it existed. Also read the pie story since it was built up as something nsfl but was disappointed since I've been on Sup Forums for longer than a week

Reference Hell Bent.

I also felt on a first watch that it negated the poignancy of Clara's death in FtR.

However, since re-watching series 9, now think that I actually prefer the end (or beginning?) that she was given in Hell Bent. Her whole story arc thru series 8 & 9 was about her becoming more and more like the Doctor, always questioning and learning about the rules and consequences of time travel.

It seems very apt that she's now non-aging, with an immortal companion of her own and with her own TARDIS. And this was Moffat's intent all along.

...

You're right about clara's 8-9 arc, however I still feel like a better ending for it was "she's so overconfident in her doctor-ness she fucked up and died because she can never really be the doctor" rather than "she turned into her own doctor with her own tardis and space adventures and companion"

Nice bait, user. Adding in some unusual vocabulary didn't work, m8.

I though that too at first, but re-watching changed my mind.

*thought

Agreed.

>I don't get the hate for Time-Flight
After re watching it I don't really either, I mean its not GOAT but it has an interesting story that moves along fast.
>It reminds me of an average Pertwee era story, something like The Mutants or The Claws of Axos
exactly

...

are there any pictures of young moffat?

Yeah

>tfw novelization continuity is different from TV continuity again

doctor basil

I like that 12 actually comes up with creative names rather than just sticking to 'john smith'

Small THE rtd

Reminder some people on /who/ actually thought The Doctor's name was Basil and got mad at Moffat for "revealing his name"

I guarantee you /who/ was being ironic and/or copy/pasting posts from GB, reddit and tumblr

...

So who here would have wanted the TV movie to have started an American Doctor Who series?

I want to rail sarah jane and make K-9 watch

DOCTOR: It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for.

(The Doctor points to a ghostly bald figure, that walks forward.)

MISSY: Nardole...

(Nardole merges with the Doctor.)

BILL: He was the Doctor all the time!

(Peter Capaldi turns into Nardole, then gains youthful features and short straight hair. Alfred Enoch sits up.)

(Credits roll)

If Chibbers writes it, this could happen lads.
