No, they didn't. Also, of those Brits that did fight, many settled in Canada and are the direct ancestors of Canadians. Still, there were some very impressive martial feats by the voltigeurs, new brunswick infantry of foot, et al., all Canadian born. Many successful Canadian militiamen during the war were also originally born in the USA.
