It's pretty fucking retarded at the moment. They're kept from coming in by plane so the only route is the extremely dangerous one by boat. The once they do that they can stay, but people who want to come by plane are still not allowed to do that. It's the most inconsistent immigration policy imaginable, almost as if we're saying "you can come and stay if you have the BALLS to risk your life, otherwise don't bother". Makes no sense, either let everyone come in, including by plane, or apply the same restrictions to people who come in by boat.
